Highly recommend this pizzeria. As the saying goes, "2 streets back from main attractions" often offers the most authentic dining experiences. Pizzas were superb, cooked in front of us, on a wood fired pizza oven, using the freshest of ingredients. Fantastic crispy base & loads of topping. Staff were very attentive and friendly, even having a laugh & a joke with us. Will definitely try to visit a 2nd time whilst in Lucca.

The essence of pizza - an inexpensive, simple, quick and tasty meal served without pretense or ceremony. While in the old town they want up to 15 euros for a margherita, here you can eat a really delicious pizza for half that price, and it will be served to you by the smiling owner herself. The pizzas themselves are really good, some of the best I've eaten in my life.

Mama Ida is a very kind woman. She offers a huge selection of pizzas, prepared right before your eyes and baked in a live wood-fired oven. The pizza is perfect and tastes perfect! We'll definitely come back next time we're in Lucca.

Absolutely amazing pizza. We had a custom made pizza half and half we thought we would have some to go. My wife and I were nearly fighting each other for the last pieces of crust, we literally were just about to eat the cardboard. The pizza was sitting on, because everything was so absolutely delicious and unbelievable.

Pizza doesn't get more authentic and fresh than this. Despite some language difficulties (we don't speak Italian, the manager doesn't speak German, and speaks very little English), the staff was super friendly and welcoming. The pizzas were delicious and very reasonably priced. The additional regional specialty, cescina, was also very tasty. It's a shame we didn't try it until our last day of vacation. A definite recommendation if you want to eat delicious, authentic pizza in Lucca.
