A local, traditional restaurant. Rustic, authentic, and delicious food. Highly recommended—it's apparently mostly locals who eat here. Tip: Off the beaten track.

Nice restaurant, good food, generous portions. Fried food is light and digestible. I particularly recommend brandacuiun and sacripantina. The owner is empathetic and loves talking to customers about everything but especially football. The prices are not high if you take into account that you eat fish and that the restaurant is located in the city center.

At the top of a typical Genoese climb you reach this tavern. We eat very well!!! Homemade pasta, excellent pesto and delicious breaded anchovies. I would happily return. In our room the light was bad, too strong and unsuitable.

Ottima cena di lavoro in questa osteria molto conosciuta a Genova ma personalmente non conoscevo. Classici sapori genovesi a tavola, servizio cortese, consigliato sicuramente.

Tornati da Genio dopo diversi anni, abbiamo trovato la stessa atmosfera e soprattutto la stessa qualità in cucina. Il buon cibo e il servizio pronto e cortese fanno perdonare i tavoli apparecchiati con tovagliette e tovaglioli di carta. Buoni i mandilli al pesto, buonissimo l'agnello fritto con carciofi, eccellente il brandacuiun.

I Canovacci

26/05/2025: Ended up here because it was recommended by my aunt who is a Genova native. Upon entering I was greeted by a kind host and was brought water, bread and focaccia promptly. Food was excellent and very well priced. Creative twist on simple things done exceptionally well. Eat here.
