Typical Genoese restaurant with the innkeeper who explains how the dishes are prepared and gives advice on how to best appreciate them. I tasted two first courses, namely the mandilli with pesto and the trofie with pesto and chestnut flour and they were both more than good. White wine from the region as an accompaniment.

Tornati da Genio dopo diversi anni, abbiamo trovato la stessa atmosfera e soprattutto la stessa qualità in cucina. Il buon cibo e il servizio pronto e cortese fanno perdonare i tavoli apparecchiati con tovagliette e tovaglioli di carta. Buoni i mandilli al pesto, buonissimo l'agnello fritto con carciofi, eccellente il brandacuiun.

The dishes are cooked with excellent quality raw materials. In essence, the appetizers raise the price considerably, the portions are small and not abundant, a tasting restaurant.
For a complete meal which includes starter, first course, second course, water, coffee for two people you can reach close to €100.
The focaccia in squares prevails to give satiety, the mandillos with pesto are good but I deduce that ultimately, a plate of pasta as a first course, a bit of focaccia and panissa not abundant portions and water in a glass jug you can easily spend €30 each .

Tornati a pranzare Da Genio',tipica Osteria Trattoria ligure genovese zona Carignano, Optiamo per funghi porcini impanati e fritti e brandacujun come antipasto, proseguendo con taglierini con tartufo taglierini ai funghi porcini e trofie come primo, continuando con calamaretti alla ligure con pinoli e olive come secondo, terminando con crostata alle castagne bonnet e latte dolce come dessert,caffè e amaro . Tutto di buona qualità che unita alla buona accoglienza gentilezza ed educazione dell titolare (che è da solo in sala)fanno passare in secondo piano la non velocissima attesa, comunque sempre piacevole la permanenza,lo consiglio sicuramente...
