We recently dined at Trattoria Da Genio, and overall it was a bit of a mixed experience. The food was truly excellent — fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was well-prepared and authentic, and you can tell the kitchen knows exactly what it’s doing. It’s the kind of place where the quality of the ingredients and traditional recipes really shine. Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the standard of the food. We waited quite a long time for menus, then again to have our order taken, and there was another significant delay before the food arrived. It may have been an understaffing issue or simply an unusually busy lunch, but the extended waits did take away from the overall experience. That said, the quality of the food makes it worth considering a return visit — hopefully on a day when the service side is running more smoothly.

The food was truly excellent (artichoke skewers, ravioli in walnut sauce, fried fish). It's a shame the space is cramped and we found ourselves next to some very noisy people. Regardless, we ate very well.

Spectacular place and meal. Found it by chance, but we'll definitely be back. Super friendly and welcoming service. Traditional food, made the old-fashioned way, authentically good.
