We had bruschetta with olive patê and with tomato. The olive one was just too salty, the tomate was good but nothing special.
As main dish we ordered rigatoni alla carcerati and spaghetti cacio e pepe. The cacio e pepe was definitely the star of the meal and the rigatoni was good but it was too intense, a good dish to split but i wouldn't recommend to eat it solo.
Overall a good experience and the "the fork" discount made it even better 😅

Found this „hidden gem“ on TikTok. We did not make a reservation, that‘s why we waited 1 hour for our table (which was worth it but just make a reservation).
We had Fiori di Zucci Fritti as an entree, which was literally perfect. Crunchy outside, soft melty cheese inside and perfect savory from the anchovies. 10/10
For main dishes we ordered:
Rigatoni Alla Carcerata, which was very creamy and they were not saving with truffles, however for me it was a bit too rich and hearty. 8,5/10
Spaghettoni Alla Carbonara, which was perfect. Emulsified, creamy sauce and crispy guanciale. Spaghettoni had the right thickness and „al dentedness“ 10/10
Rigatoni with Oxtail (forgot the Italian name), very rich tomato sauce. However, very little and small oxtail. 8/10
Furthermore, we had the white house wine (8/10) and the tiramisu (9/10) which were sweet, but not too sweet!
Nice and kind service, pretty waitress and waiters. :)
Definetely will come back here next time!
Extra tip: if you forgot to make a reservation just take a stroll to the Gianicolo Monument.

Da Fabrizio al 56 is, without question, my favorite authentic Italian restaurant I’ve ever experienced. We were in Rome for four nights and chose to have dinner here every single night. The only reason we didn’t eat here on the fourth night was because it was Sunday—and they were closed. Otherwise, trust me, we’d have been back again!
Everything is unbelievably fresh, homemade, and packed with flavor. The bruschetta is perfection, the focaccia is warm and fluffy, and the sausage meat board is a must-try. But the real stars? The Pomodoro pasta and the bucatini Amatriciana. I still dream about them.
This place doesn’t just serve food—it serves comfort, quality, and heart. I genuinely wish I could bring Da Fabrizio home with me. It’s that special. Don’t miss it!

Four times in Rome in about a year (not for tourism) my stay each time ranges from 4 days to a week. I have eaten lunches and dinners in several places.
As for 56, I do not think I will repeat the experience. (subjective and strictly personal statement)

Everything from appetizer to main course was AMAZING! We started at a busy tourist restaurant and ended up here and so glad we did. The food, people, at atmosphere are all 11/10. Will be reserving a table for tomorrow night!

The place is excellent. The service was outstanding, and every dish was full of flavor. It is a great spot for writing. The house wine was excellent. The vibes are traditional, making it a truly delicious Roman experience.
