I went here for lunch with friends and we immediately knew it was a good place to go because we had to book three days in advance. The three-day wait was worth it. The dishes were all delicious and captured that Roman essence that's slowly disappearing. The wait staff was extremely kind and always ready to suggest dining options. The prices were fair and probably lower than many of the trattorias we visited. Da Emilio is an experience not to be missed if you're in Rome as a tourist like me, because for them, you're not a tourist but a guest.

The best discoveries are the ones you discover by chance.
You choose to avoid the busy Via Nomentana, choosing to walk along the parallel Via Alessandria, and you come across the eye-catching sign, Da Emilio.
You decide to go in because when it's time—it was after 1:00 PM—and your stomach demands to be filled, you can't help but step through the door of this restaurant, which reveals to the traveler all its old-world charm.
The cuisine is traditional, with a rich menu of Roman dishes and more.
Authentic, sincere, and genuine are the adjectives that can be used for this Roman restaurant, which are well-suited to the dishes served at the nearby tables.
The traveler, seated comfortably at his table, opts for broccoli and arzilla soup as his first course, and never could a choice have been happier, rewarded by the deliciousness of an ancient Roman dish, expertly cooked with the accompaniment of broken pasta.
Next up was a superb paranza, which went down without a hitch, perfectly in keeping with the previous dish.
The assimilation of the dishes was aided by a truly sincere and frank house white.
The service was extremely courteous and efficient. The bill was fair.
Truly deserved compliments. I'll be back.

We are in one of the very few places that still preserve Roman cuisine, family-run, extremely courteous, it is a must to spend time with the father present at all the tables, as soon as prompted he will tell you anecdotes of Roman life and customers who have passed away (Aldo Fabrizi for example), of the same good nature of the father you will also find the son, the mother cook... in the kitchen, fantastic food, I recommend, but everything is excellent, the fried anchovies.. in batter, and the tripe, like the cod.... in short.... EVERYTHING
