Sono andato già quattro volte in quattro mesi. La prima volta una piacevolissima scoperta, la seconda una deliziosa conferma, le volte successive un ritorno sempre molto gradito! Gentilezza, semplicità e genuinità. Questi tre aggettivi definiscono a mio avviso in maniera perfetta lo spirito di questa trattoria di quartiere che non ha ceduto al richiamo di inutili ammodernamenti ma mantiene il fascino della semplicità tipica delle trattorie romane dove si mangia bene e si trascorre una piacevolissima serata. E ora veniamo alla cena... per iniziare un sontuoso carciofo romanesco che mi è stato servito dal signor Emilio che con lo spirito romano mi dice "mi è stato detto di darle del carciofo"☺️ per proseguire ho preso tonnarelli cacio e pepe molto ben bilanciati e quindi molto buoni e ho poi mangiato saltimbocca alla romana squisiti e cicoria. Il tutto annaffiato da mezzo litro di rosso. Per concludere una fetta di torta alle mele e noci preparata come se fosse uscita dal forno di casa. Il conto onesto, circa una quarantina di euro a persona e per concludere ci è stato offerto un gustosissimo liquore alla genziana sempre fatto da loro. È stata una piacevolissima scoperta e di sicuro ci tornerò.

We enjoyed one of the best meals we had in Rome at Da Emilios . This family run restaurant was a pleasant surprise being so close to our AIRBNB rental. We met the entire family from Mom cooking in the kitchen, to Dad coming out to the table several times during the meal to be sure everything was good, to the brothers waiting the tables. We were told by the family that their Roman Artichokes (Carciofi alla Romana) were the best in Rome. This was confirmed by us after trying them at several other restaurant's after trying theirs...none came close !

Don't miss the rigatoni with pajata and Roman-style saltimbocca. Artichokes are sublime for their tenderness!
Finding yourself at Emilio's is a joy for the palate! Familiarity and simplicity combined with a now rare friendliness here in Rome are welcome in this place which exudes all the characteristics of the beautiful cuisines of the past. We started with a tasting of fried battered anchovies and marinated anchovies, just to accompany a first sip of good wine to toast together, but the joy began with the rigatoni with pajata (excellent), the homemade agnolotti with ragù and spaghetti with anchovies and cherry tomatoes, just to enjoy a first demonstration of how Emilio's wife knows how to take care of the taste of preparing real traditional dishes with fantastic results with now rare ability! Continuing with an ossobuco, some veal rolls with mashed potatoes and what mashed potatoes - it looked like the one prepared by grandmother - the joy of flavors was revealed in all its beautiful composition!! In short, excellent quality food, preparation according to tradition and perfect execution make a stop at Emilio's a very welcome moment of serene joy! And the joy doesn't fade when it's time to pay the bill!

The best discoveries are the random ones.
You choose to avoid the busy Via Nomentana, deciding to take the parallel Via Alessandria and you come across the eye-catching sign, trattoria da Emilio.
You decide to go in because when it's time, it was after thirteen, and your stomach claims its claim to be filled, you can't help but cross the entrance of this restaurant which shows the traveler all its charm as a place of 'Antan.
The cuisine is traditional, with a rich menu made up of Roman dishes and more.
Authentic, sincere and genuine are the adjectives that can be used for this Roman restaurant location, which are well suited to the dishes that are brought to the nearby tables.
The traveler, sitting comfortably at his table, opted for the broccoli and sprightly soup as a first course and had never been happier with his choice, as he was rewarded by the goodness of an ancient Roman dish, cooked to perfection with the accompaniment of broken spaghetti.
Followed by a great fish, which went down without a hitch, in perfect harmony with the previous dish.
The assimilation of the dishes was helped by a truly sincere and frank white wine from the house.

I really like it because it still retains the characteristics of a typical trattoria and it is difficult to find one in the city. Family run, the owner Emilio, although a little elderly, is always present and serves at the table. Characteristic tables and chairs. The menu prefers the winter part. The tortellini in broth are very good and the rabbit with baked potatoes is also excellent. The quality-price ratio is excellent and courtesy is standard. The restaurant also produces typical Roman dishes. It's worth discovering even if it's a bit hidden in the neighborhood near Via Regina Margherita and Piazza Alessandria

I love this place that takes you back to what Rome was 50 years ago. Emilio is a perfect host and his lady's cooking makes you feel at home. Super recommended

Consigliato da amici andiamo a cena in questa trattoria ,arredi rimasto a 40 anni fa ,ma.questo è il bello perché la.cucina che conta e tutto e dico tutto era eccezionale, abbiamo davvero mangiato bene piatti semplici casalinghi ma fatti come si deve ,in cucina la mamma di 78 anni in sala il figlio e altri aiutanti coadiuvati da Emilio di anni 84 che regna come si.deve da ottimo trattore, ritorneremo e consiglieremo a molti!

Accompagnato da un collega che lavora nei pressi, consigliato da lui che ne capisce, mi sono lasciato consigliare.
Tipicamente una trattoria Romana, se vi aspettate sedie e arredamento moderno, di lusso ecc ecc, cambiate strada. Il resto è pura goduria per il palato. Personale gentile e proprietario simpatico e affabile.
Assolutamente da ritornarci per le mie prossime trasferte a Roma.
