Two of us, starving, took refuge after 9:30 PM in this simple but never boring trattoria. Greeted by the owner's friendliness and unpretentious simplicity, we ordered two first courses, and what can I say... portions were almost too generous, no, it's never too much, but they justified the price, which wasn't high but was definitely below average for Rome's tourist-catching restaurants.
Even the two-euro cover charge was covered by the bread and pizza! Wow, that pizza was delicious, so you can mop it up with it! Fast service, what do you think?

A typical Roman restaurant where you can eat with the locals. Both the pasta and meat dishes are delicious!

Bucatino is always a sure thing. Authentic Roman food. Excellent service, and the old-world atmosphere warms the heart.

Discovered by chance, a great surprise.

I returned to this trattoria after a few years because I had fond memories of it, and luckily, everything was the same as it was back then: excellent dishes, made with quality ingredients. We obviously chose the bucatini all'amatriciana, but also cacio e pepe, gricia, and ravioli. All excellent. For main courses, we opted for oxtail stew, grandma's chicken with peppers, and suckling pig with potatoes. Everything was excellent. We spent €260 for six of us, including two liters of wine on tap and plenty of water. In short, a genuine trattoria, far from the tourist traps. Highly recommended, even if it's a bit far from the city center.

The chicken with peppers is exceptional. The liver appetizer is also excellent. We had reservations, and the service was impeccable.

It was recommended to me as a welcoming, traditional Roman trattoria serving authentic cuisine. Unfortunately, I found it overcrowded (it was a Saturday night), and I was accommodated in an outdoor area where gusts of cold alternated with waves of heat emanating from the mushrooms. But above all, I was disappointed by the food. I'll give just two examples: amatriciana with chunks of meat in sauce mixed with guanciale, and a bland carbonara with burnt guanciale. Price: €140 (for two people, appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, and bitters, with €50 wine), which I would have gladly paid had I been satisfied.

A pleasant surprise. We went for the first time with two of our friends, who are longtime regulars at this trattoria.
As I said, a pleasant surprise. At first, I thought it was just another trattoria, but upon entering, I found a welcoming atmosphere for a trattoria frequented by many tourists.
Quick and impeccable service.
The quality of the products was excellent.
I recommend making a reservation, even if you're in line; they'll get you a table; you just need a little patience, because at 10:00 PM, after dinner, there was a line outside. The only flaw, if I may say so, is that once you'd paid the bill, you felt a bit monitored when it came to releasing your table, but it was justified in offering a seat even to those waiting to get in without a reservation.
