I've been going to Cul de Sac for over 20 years. I recently returned; over time, some things have remained the same, while others have obviously changed. Unfortunately, the prices have become more in line with those of a restaurant, even though it's not a restaurant; there's not even an in-house kitchen. Generally, the prices are medium-high, like almost everything else in Rome, especially in tourist areas. The quality of the food has remained good, although I wouldn't recommend the first courses, except for the lasagna and some stuffed pasta dishes. The service, as always, is rather surly and sloppy, which might have been forgivable when you were paying less, but perhaps more annoying these days. The wine selection is always good (it's a wine bar, after all). The desserts are good.

Located just a short walk from the Trevi fountain, Cul De Sac is a gloriously cute and rustic gem.
Cul De Sac feels like a place you've always known, even if you've never been, the staff are warm and inviting and always happy to have a chat.
The menu contains dishes both familiar and more local , and probably more individual cheeses than you've ever seen on one menu ! (I'll have to go back to try them all).
Between us we ordered the salt cod with potatoes, a 3 paté selection (traditional, hare & truffle and venison with black pepper) , traditional lasagne and duck raviolo.
The portions were incredibly generous, hot and quite the treat for the eyes. The salt cod was so creamy and flavourful, and yet delicate at the same time.
The paths were rich and unctuous, perfectly balanced and served with the crispiest bruschetta breads I think I've ever had.
The duck raviolo, simple in presentation and ingredients but massive in flavour that had me dancing in my seat.
The lasagne an unadulterated classic, delicious, bright and deeply tomatey.
We also ordered the almond and orange tart and the chocolate mousse.
The tart so unapologetically citrusy, your mouth can't help but water, and the chocolate mousse so dark, and so decadent, yet not. Over powering.
An outstanding little spot, with great food, friendly staff and a familiar atmosphere... not to mention more wines than any single venue I've ever seen.
I will definitely be back , perhaps one wine per cheese.

I came here on the recommendation of a local guide who said it was a long-established restaurant specializing in braised oxtail. It wasn't too salty, and the wine they recommended was delicious. I was a little greedy, so I also ordered some lasagna, but I liked it even more.

I went to eat dinner and it was delicious and the service was also great!! Even if I said it was oxtail stew, everyone would understandㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It reminds me of rice..ㅎ The lasagna had a rich cheesy flavor! Everyone, if you go, make sure to order the oxtail stew. It tastes a bit like gamjatang meat!

Everyone at the restaurant was friendly and there must have been a lot of Koreans there because when we ordered, they asked us with perfect pronunciation, “Soxtail stew?” ㅋㅋㅋ It’s a dish that has a hint of Western flavor in it, perfect for Korean palates. The meat was tender and we enjoyed it very much. When we tried to order pasta without knowing what to do, they asked us back, “That’s not your kind of pasta, is it okay?” We said it was okay and the pasta we ate was so delicious that we cleaned our plates before leaving. As is the case with many Italian restaurants, the outdoor seating blends well with the scenery and it wasn’t noisy either. We enjoyed our meal very much. Thank you!

It's incredibly tender and tastes like braised short ribs. It's not greasy. It's salty, so it's delicious with wine. My data connection is weak, but there's Wi-Fi in the restaurant. The staff isn't very friendly.

Servizio ottimo! Nulla da di dire
