Crotto Montepiatto In Torno

After a nice hike of about an hour, we arrived at the Montepiatto crotto and stuffed ourselves well... an appetizer to nibble on, then we tried the pizzoccheri, polenta uncia (excellent), stew, leek and wild boar crepes (very good), baked potatoes, and a trio of desserts (ricotta and blueberry and rosemary panna cotta tart and chocolate and chestnut mousse—three delights...but the tart is truly amazing). The meal ended with a nice Génépi digestif. We were inside... a lovely, warm atmosphere considering the gloomy day... but since there were also customers at the outside tables, unfortunately, the door was opened too frequently. And this annoyed the customers near it (we just agreed). Other than that, nothing much to complain about... at most, when you book and it starts to get cold, ask for a table near the stove 😉 The guys are super helpful and always smiling. A note about the trail to get there from Torno: we accidentally took a mule track that was blocked in one spot. It wasn't exactly easy, though, and not for everyone...let's say medium-level, because it's constantly uphill. The descent feels the same. I recommend anyone who wants to eat at the crotto to wear suitable shoes and, given the length of the climb, be at least somewhat fit for walking...and then enjoy a hearty lunch!

After a lovely walk from Torno, even with children accustomed to walking, you arrive in this beautiful village where you can eat at the Montepiatto crotto. The staff are extremely kind and friendly, the food is authentic and spectacular, and the location is top-notch. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.

I recommend a visit to Crotto Montepiatto. A simple yet unique and authentic place, very well managed, where the quality of the dishes is top-notch. It's the perfect stop on the circular route up from Torno. I'll definitely be back in the autumn colors.

Having completed a challenging hike to arrive at the location, which included navigating a road that was not accurately represented on Google Maps, we were very appreciative of the staff's friendliness, particularly given our somewhat breathless state. The establishment provides stunning views, a peaceful atmosphere, and a welcoming staff.

A truly picturesque place, surrounded by nature. The walk from Torno is very accessible, suitable for everyone. Typical local cuisine with truly excellent dishes.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was super comfortable, the staff were friendly and made us feel at home, and the walk was pleasant and suitable for everyone. The chicken and potato skewers were superb. Excellent.

Ci siamo fermati per una merenda a base di torta di mirtilli fatta in casa, con dei mirtilli freschi e saporiti. 🫐🥧Un buon caffè ha accompagnato la nostra pausa . ☕️ Personale cortese e pronto a soddisfare ogni esigenza. Lo spazio interno e’ pulito e luminoso, peccato non aver usufruito dei tavoli all’esterno perché già occupati.🍽️ La prossima volta sarà sicuramente per un pranzo con ricette locali.
