Crotto del Lupo is a historic restaurant on Monte Olimpino, accessible by climbing from Como towards Switzerland.
A "four seasons" restaurant, it's wonderful to gather inside on a cold winter evening, or on a warm summer evening, where you can at least escape the city heat by sitting on the pleasant covered terrace, in a relaxing, quiet setting.
They also have facilities for events.
They offer cuisine with Valtellina influences, featuring quality products, platters, pasta dishes, and meats. A must-try are the iconic "Bacetti dello Chef Bertarini," which have been a delight for both adults and children since 1978!
These are a type of cream puff filled with a delicate creamy cheese, mushroom, tomato, and cream.
They used to be served in a bowl with a small flame underneath (I recommend bringing it back); now, they're still served in the same bowl, but without the flame, but the unique flavor remains unchanged.
A must-try.
Reasonable prices, depending on whether you also order (excellent) wine. The beautifully preserved ancient cellar room inside the restaurant is worth seeing (or being seen if it's closed).

Good Valtellinese cuisine, good wine, quiet place, recommended. Two criticisms: they didn't serve the children first even though the menu was the same, the disabled bathroom doesn't exist and if indicated. Recommended place anyway.

We found a quiet place, with a not very extensive but well-studied menu, and very courteous service. Unfortunately the wines were a little expensive, but the prosecco we ordered was excellent.
