A simple menu with the best ingredients. Delivered by the sweetest brothers. Pasta and Risotto were really delicious but especially their cheeses are world class. Remember that you can buy cheeses and vino to take home. Maybe you are lucky enough to get a visit to their “Grott”. Highly recommended.

Ding-dong! The church tower in Bologna chimed 7:30 PM as we followed an elderly Italian couple toward a nearby restaurant. For some unknown reason, we felt sure they were heading to the same place as us — and we were right. That was the exact moment the restaurant opened. We were warmly welcomed by a kind host. After being seated, we watched as the place quickly filled up within the next 30 minutes. The food was absolutely incredible — every dish was made from fresh, local ingredients and tasted fabulous. The service matched the quality of the food: friendly, attentive, and genuine. What stood out most was the vibe. It felt like a family gathering, with the same faces who started the evening still there at the end. A truly memorable and authentic experience.

We chose this restaurant for dinner on our last night because it's close to the hotel where we were staying (B&B Papillon), and the manager recommended it to us. She certainly wasn't wrong. All the food we tried was delicious and flavorful. The waiter and chef were very friendly and kind, and deserve praise for such excellent service and food. Although it's not on the menu, they DO have desserts, so ask the waiter about them. We tried the apple pie and it was incredible. Fresh and delicious. The menu has a legend to indicate allergies or intolerances, which I found very useful for those who need it. 10/10.

A truly wonderful place with delicious dishes. The two chefs are extremely friendly, and the setting is beautifully decorated. Since we enjoyed it so much the first time, we went back again.

On our way back to Milan we wanted to stop at this restaurant without having read any reviews. There is attention not only for the customers but above all for the raw materials used. The dishes offered are not only traditions, they are an example of love, work, technique and respect. Keep it up and may your commitment and love always be recognized.

We returned to Crotto and as always we had a great time, quality food, attentive service and owners always very kind. At the end of lunch a visit to the cellar to taste the amaro. We will definitely return

Restaurant très excentré en pleine nature tout en haut de Varennes, en y arrive après pas mal de virages. La décoration est rustique et agréable. Le service est aimable et la carte appétissante. Le risotto est très bon. Le choix de dessert est très limité en fait il y en a qu'un. Les prix sont corrects.

Nuova gestione del Crotto. I due fratelli che gestiscono il crotto hanno un'alta attenzione al cliente. La cucina è tipica ma ricercata, con ottima scelta della materia prima a km0. Nulla da eccepire sia sulla cucina che sul servizio. Prezzo in linea con la qualità. Posto assolutamente consigliato!
