The food was good, the atmosphere was nice and relaxing, but the staff was not very empathetic, which left a bad impression. Luckily, the cashier was kind.

Located right next to St. Peter's Basilica, the restaurant does have a few tourists, but it's a local restaurant without any tourist traps.
The food is delicious, and they even made recommendations which we accepted. We had a platter of ham with bread, along with various pasta dishes cooked perfectly al dente. A liter of water cost €1.50, bread €1.50, and pasta €15. A full glass of wine was €7.50. Two coffees completed the meal.
The atmosphere is great. The bread and pizza are homemade and freshly baked.

Delicious food. Near the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. I have serious reservations about the service, however. When we were there in the morning, the two of us, among the many Italians, the service was impeccable. A few hours later, among the group of Polish tourists, I sensed an attitude of hostility, to say the least. As if we were unwelcome or wanted something for free. It was a sad experience, and not just mine.

I enjoyed the very tasty carbonara, as well as the special homemade bread.
For dessert, the carrot cake; for me, the clove outshines the carrot.
I returned a few days later for takeout lunch. The sandwiches were excellent, with excellent dough and ingredients! Delicious, even eaten hours later.
It's a shame that not all the waiters are willing to work, the wait times are too long, and only one girl actually steps up when a customer needs something.
I returned in 2025. They were very kind in seating us at 11 pm on a Sunday evening, but there's always that absurd superficiality in small details that might be fine in Rome but not for those coming from outside. The food is good 👍🏼
