The restaurant is in a decidedly unfortunate location, on a dead end. If you don't know it or ask someone, you won't get there. In short, there are few seats and questionable opening hours. Even in the summer, they close on Sundays despite the crowds of tourists. But why?
I can understand this in the winter, but in the summer, Sunday closings aren't a common occurrence in tourist destinations. Furthermore, if you go after 10:00 PM, the staff will tell you the kitchen is closing soon and discourage you. In short, the opening hours are inflexible; they don't exist in the summer.
So, as we were talking about limited seating, if you go on Saturday or Sunday, book in advance; otherwise, it's small and you won't find a table. The service is slow, as there's usually only one waiter who obviously does what he can. If it's busy, you'll have a long wait. The menu features a few traditional Ligurian dishes, but the quality is there. I recommend the brandacujun (creamed cod), an excellent Ligurian dish. They also make good trofie with pesto, and the rabbit and desserts are excellent. The wine list is sparse, but you'll find some good labels here too. Prices are quite high for the area, especially considering the terrible location and slow service. This restaurant is undoubtedly a treasure, given the
very talented chef, but it's being poorly managed and likely lacking any sense of innovation (the menu hasn't changed for decades).

We were immediately welcomed by Ivan with care. Restaurant that reminds us that in Italy you can still enjoy a truly typical dish of the area at the right price. Friendliness and attention to the customer. Ligurian-style rabbit recommended. Thanks for the evening

Very nice little Osteria with traditional Ligurian food.
Nice touch the limoncello complimentary at the end . Nice selection of Rossese the only Ligurian Red Wine. Parking after 8:00 is free but still a bit of a challenge.

Piccola osteria nascosta in un vicoletto di Ventimiglia, che per me è assoluta garanzia di buona qualità del cibo ed eccellente ospitalità. Frequentiamo questo locale da anni (tappa fissa prima di ogni viaggio in Francia) e ogni volta non posso che raccomandare caldamente il brandacujun, il coniglio alla rossese, e ovviamente un immancabile piatto di pasta al pesto ligure. Se a fine pasto rimane spazio, da provare anche il dolce con zabaione. Conto più che onesto e gestione cordiale e veloce. Servirebbero più ristoranti così, consigliatissimo!
