Comeilmare In Gaeta

A recommended experience: eating on the Gaeta waterfront, where fishermen dock in the evening with their catch of the day, which goes straight to the fishmonger... who cooks your fresh catch simply, but by a hand that knows its stuff well. "Rustic" atmosphere: no table service, an ice bucket for your personalized wine, and decidedly original. I had the best and most flavorful calamari platter ever (just calamari with no added bread), and a very tender octopus salad. Value for money (€41) ✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️

The linguine with mussels... A truly delicious treat!!!! The fried calamari and etc. Unique!!!

Excellent food and typical Gaeta dishes. Prices definitely exceeded expectations.

Whether Gaeta is your other half or you're just passing through, this fishmonger-restaurant is a must-visit: you choose your dish from the freshest catch, which is cooked to order, and instead of being served, your order is called to be picked up and enjoyed at your table. The lack of service is nothing compared to the deliciousness and quality of the dishes, the truly fair prices, and the abundance of the portions. It was hard not to give in to the temptation to try the entire menu: the two of us tried a classic fried calamari and anchovy dish, an octopus and potato salad (very tender and with a real taste of the sea), a grilled salmon served with cherry tomatoes and avocado, and a grilled swordfish. Chosen almost by chance, it was a more than pleasant discovery, and we'll return as soon as we can :3

A fishermen's club, serving freshly caught fish, as well as frozen fish. No reservations required; you sit down if there are free tables and order by filling out a brochure listing the various dishes.

The line is well worth it! Excellent food and a friendly place. You order at the cashier, and when they call your name, you go pick up your dishes at the counter. The grilled octopus is excellent, as is the fresh and tasty salad. Votapiatto is nice to share because it's a large plate and very tasty. The sea bass meatballs are delicious. The shrimp tartare is superb, the tuna tartare is simpler. If you're in Gaeta, you can't miss it!
