We returned precisely because we had a good time the first time. I confirm that it was a pleasant discovery. A small place but offering great dishes. A well-studied and very successful menu. Very nice place, well-kept inside, typical. Excellent service, friendly, polite and professional waiter. The good dishes. The raw material is of high quality but, in my opinion, it could have been enhanced better. The desserts are good. Overall, a very pleasant atmosphere and a lovely evening. Advise!

16/06/2025: Historic trattoria in the center of Udine. Typical atmosphere of the past with people drinking a "Taglio" while eating a meatball or a good tartine, we Venetians would say a spunciotto. Then dinner, a platter of cold cuts and cheeses with fig mustard and caramelized onions. Braised pork cheeks with mushrooms and fridge. A good house merlot, water and a dessert. 82 euros for 4. And the owner, Andrea, a lovely person and attached to the values ​​of hospitality of the past. If you are in the area, stop by, it's worth it.

Vecchia Osteria alla Pieve

08/07/2025: A slightly vintage and authentic place with a rustic feel. The service is also unique, with the owner and chef walking around the tables to explain the philosophy behind the dishes.
23/06/2025: What an unusual place, in the best possible way. They clearly cater to locals. In fact, we never even got the menu. The chew/owner came to chat with us — in perfect English — and suggested dishes. Since we struggled to pick, he let us sample several dishes. It was a lovely experience and while we never saw a menu, prices were more than reasonable.
