For me, this is the best gelato shop in Perugia. The gelato is excellent; you can taste the quality of the ingredients. For those with lactose intolerance, there's a wide variety of flavors.

Below I explain why my wife and I consider Perusia the best artisanal ice cream shop in Perugia that still exists. * Lemon ice cream is made with lemon and not with the commercial bases that in almost all other ice cream shops make lemon ice creams seem identical to those in supermarket tubs or almost; * Pistachio ice cream is made with real pistachios, chopped in the laboratory inside Perusia and not with pistachio pastes for ice cream; * Ditto for hazelnut and for the other flavors, including chocolate and coffee. It's just a shame that they don't make mint and licorice... Don't forget that Augusta Perusia is a true artisanal chocolate shop and that its laboratory is clearly visible to everyone, inside the shop, from behind a glass that shows it completely. Until last year, taking the lemon as a sample, we appreciated a second ice cream shop in Perugia that has two locations, one of which is in the center. But this ice cream shop, after the last check, disappointed us because the lemon, now like in almost all ice cream shops, resembles that of the supermarket tubs, even if a little better. P.S. Forget the negative reviews on Augusta Perusia (but not only on it) that to express an opinion focus on wrong attitudes of the staff or on details that have no impact on quality. It can happen anywhere to be treated badly and the reasons can be many. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone... The review of a restaurant, a bar and similar must first of all inform other users about the quality and goodness of the products. Everything else is debatable, can vary and can depend on tired or probationary staff who perhaps, in the meantime, have even been changed. Regardless, in two and a half years of attending we have always been treated very well in Augusta Perusia. When the Owner is there, then, it can be nice to exchange some conversations with her because her experience is rooted in the Perugian confectionery traditions and it is very interesting to listen to her; moreover, the Owner is a very kind Lady.
