Thanks to social media—Instagram in our case—my wife and I decided to spend an evening at the restaurant "ChiaroScuro di Marina Ravarotto." A surprise for all the senses. Finding poetry in a dish, the story of an ancient land, Sardinia, condensed into flavors, the description of a dish that ignites a thousand emotions. Emotions come from observing unexpected plating, the ceramics that hold the dishes, the menu and wine list stitched with Sardinian fabrics, the warmth of a story passed down and renewed with the art of haute cuisine condensed into a dish. Starting with a raw ingredient and making it noble and contemporary. The skill and professionalism of the dining room staff, capable of making you feel at home but also served as the most important of guests, managed to convey the dedication Chef Cinzia puts into every dish. This, for us, was "ChiaroScuro di Marina Ravarotto" at Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 380 in Cagliari.

We had the seven-course menu, which presented the flavors of Sardinia in a new, very impressive way. A big compliment to the service, which was very friendly and entertaining. We were also lucky that Marina Ravarotto helped with the service that evening, so some of the dishes were brought directly from her. Definitely a clear recommendation.

Another wonderful discovery thanks to the Michelin guide.
A lovely setting decorated with typical Sardinian objects (such as masks). Perfect service with explanations about the wine, the products, and especially the cheeses. Thank you, Madame, for your smile and your humor. The food is excellent.

We had an amazing time here at ChiaroScuro, usually I’m not a fan of Sardinian cousin but I have to say for the way everything was it made me definitely reconsider! Everything was superb, we trued around 9 different dishes, each bringing a different perspective to the traditional Sardinian food I was used to. Most of the dishes bring a touch of our natural flora, reminding of the smells of Sardinia countryside and macchia Mediterranea. My top recommendation would be spaghetto alla bottarga, very delicate and creamy, and the maialetto in oliocottura, which combine crunchiness and tenderness spectacularly. Regarding desert we only tried the Macchia which combined very nice aromas from one of the most iconic Sardinian plants. Overall 100% recommended and really a hidden gem in this town.

A small restaurant, but highly recommended. We had a lovely dinner, with some excellent dishes (tortelli, fruit beef, and a chocolate ice cream sundae). The service was a bit aggressive, but I still give the chef my compliments!

Good restaurant but inconsistent dishes...
For example, an excellent "Maialino in Oliocottura" but bland pesto pasta... Not all the dishes are of the same standard, which is a shame.

We had a seven-course tasting menu at Chiaroscuro, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish took us on a journey through local flavors, crafted with incredible technique and creativity. Every course seemed to outdo the one before it, we genuinely couldn’t pick a favorite. The balance of bold flavors and elegant presentation was masterful. Service was flawless, attentive without being intrusive, and the evening ended with a special touch: the head chef personally coming out to greet us, which made the experience even more memorable. A true must-visit for food lovers in the area.
