Historic venue, pillar of Roman tradition. Upon entering, the room certainly has an impact: wooden walls and details on which awards and recognitions obtained during the restaurant's over 130-year history are displayed. From the kitchen: artichoke to frame, rigatoni with pajata and coda alla vaccinara, mind-boggling signature dishes, avoid taking the carbonara in a place that has much better to offer. Exceptional attention to the wine service protocols, carefully selected by the property, and which is strictly not of the house. Fair price, absolutely worth visiting.

A traditional restaurant, you absolutely must go to Checchino and enjoy its timeless atmosphere and its delights. Excellent and beautifully paired wines. To return every time you come to Rome.

Excellent overall experience: service, food and atmosphere. The atmosphere is that of a traditional white tablecloth restaurant, the heavy cutlery made a good impression. The service was impeccable, welcoming and forthcoming without trying to upsell you and shake you down at every turn. The food was quite good. I ordered the crostini with sparkling wine, carbonara, and calf tongue in green sauce (only because it reminded me of the one my grandmother used to make). I'd return in a heartbeat.

One of my favorite Roman cuisine restaurants in Rome. Tradition and attention to detail are at home. For me, who is a fan of the fifth quarter and offal, Checchino is a true paradise. The Roman pastas and the choice of wines are also excellent. Highly recommended, but you need to book, finding a place is never easy.

Ancient restaurant that never fails

This restaurant is very pretty and attractive with its old decoration. The waiters were very attentive and the gentleman who served the wine spoke French. And the other older waiter was also very kind and attentive. But the lady at reception was unfriendly and rude, an old woman who wouldn't smile for a customer. And at one point it looked like we were disturbing because we arrived around 2 p.m. and we had taken an assortment of toasts and I had not yet finished when another waiter cleared the table to quickly bring the rest while we had still the toasts in hand. The wine wasn't very good either unfortunately. The food was good but nothing extraordinary.

Che dire non manca proprio nulla, storia, tradizione, eleganza, professionalità, ottima cucina, gentilezza e qualsiasi altro complimento ci starebbe bene perchè li meritano tutti. Davvero un “esperienza” da rifare il prima possibile. COMPLIMENTI

Sono stato in questo locale a cena, che dire..... Esempio di professionalità, cordialità e nazionalità! Locale piccolo ma ben curato sia come disposizione arredo che nello stile casereccio. Pulizia ottima. Servizio impeccabile. Abbiamo ordinato un menù degustazione, dove potevamo assaggiare i veri piatti della cucina Romana al costo di € 65.00 a persona. Siamo partiti con nervetti di zampa, eccellenti, un mix di gusti che rendono questo piatto (antipasto) unico nel suo genere. Passiamo a due primi, tortiglioni alla pajata e bucatini alla gricia. Entrambi fenomenali!!! Passiamo al secondo coda alla vacinara con pomodoro, sedano e cioccolato amaro accompagnato da cicorietta aglio olio e peperoncino ripassata in padella... Credetemi da leccarsi i baffi. Passiamo all'assaggio di due pecorini con marmellata di mele casereccia, entrambi di ottima qualità. Finiamo questa degustazione con una fetta di torta ricotta, scaglie di cioccolato e granella di nocciole, sublime!! Posso fare solo i mie complimenti a questo staff, che porta in alto l'arte culinaria italiana invidiata in tutto il mondo, con una nota di eccellenza, mantenere piatti tipici locali cucinati in maniera eccellente rispecchiando e rispettando sempre la tradizione!!
