Historic restaurant in Turin a stone's throw from the Gran Madre. Welcoming environment, historic management and restaurant frequented by Turin residents. Both land and sea menus, we ate here for a quick fish-based lunch, without consuming wine (even though the wine list is very extensive). Excellent dishes cooked with care, with proposals of the day. Staff friendly and quite attentive

Think of a place where the cult of traditional cuisine is a verb, where even on a Wednesday evening, there isn't a free place to sit. Interesting how, in small spaces especially at the entrance, everything is so dynamic and organised. The first impression I had upon entering was that of an elegant, but sober and functional place. I believe that from the moment we sat down to the moment we started eating our food, no more than seven minutes passed. From my point of view, a much appreciated attitude. And then the kindness and education, in addition to the mise en place, truly impeccable. The first "lightening" courses, I call them, were those of fried artichokes and prawns. Gentlemen, the fried artichokes. A delicatessen that I will never forget. Crunchy on the palate, tasty, without excesses of any kind. Exciting. I must say that the rest of the courses of this early Christmas dinner also pleasantly caught my attention. The Paccheri and Turbot with Potatoes, expertly cooked, were a worthy epilogue to an evening that had already begun majestically. What more can I say. A very varied dessert trolley where, at least for me, a lemon cake of evident goodness stood out. Plated with a bed of custard, which delighted my taste buds. I also allowed myself a slipper with the last forkful. In short, my dear readers, don't make me say anything else. Otherwise a brief tear will fall from the cheek of all those who make up this wonderful whole, from the chef, to the maitre d' and from the waiter to the cloakroom attendant. Congratulations to all. Very pleasant discovery in the Gran Madre area of ​​Turin. Highly recommended. And so I set off again, always in search of the food and wine excellences of our beautiful country. We had a Sunday lunch with the family... all excellent dishes from starters such as fried calamari, chicory with octopus, artichoke salad to continue with exquisite first courses: Carthusian risotto, rigatoni carbonara, risotto with artichokes and as second courses we opted for the lamb ribs, baked sea bream and their matchstick chips. Compliments to the very good Chef Omar and the service in the room equally up to par. Highly recommended!
