We went to this restaurant this evening, intrigued by the videos of the two owners who are young and therefore we need to reward them, having the reservation in the late evening we had to wait a little after the time but Marco immediately made amends and was very kind and helpful. We ate the artisan croquettes, the pizzas, peppered mussels and mussels au gratin, all very good. We will certainly return on quieter evenings to taste other dishes

I went last night with some friends! Typical place that makes you feel at home and above all breathe the air of Taranto tradition. Excellent pizza! Fish first course really well prepared! I highly recommend!

Parliamo ovviamente di una trattoria spartana quindi non si può pretendere un servizio o piatti stellati.
Fatta questa premessa passiamo alla location che ovviamente è molto folcloristica nel mezzo della meravigliosa città vecchia "A nostr Tarnt vecchje"
Personale gentile ma un pò disattento al servizio.
Cibo, ottimo il risotto ai frutti di mare ma non ho per niente gradito gli gnocchetti gamberi e limone...eviterei di mettere il mascarpone e/o panna, per addensare e rendere cremoso il condimento bastava scaloppare i gamberi con limone e un pizzico di farina, per quanto riguarda il limone non si può mettere la buccia intera nel piatto, non è mangiabile, metre grattugguare la buccia di limone sul piatto avrebbe dato freschezza e profumo, una piccola aggiustatina è un piatto che si farebbe apprezzare di piu.
La frittura buona ma non eccellente, nel calamaro c'era della sabbia non so come possa essere possibile ma c'era.
Un ulteriore appunto dall'antipasto al primo abbiamo aspettato oltre ¾ d'ora....
Troppo tempo
Ok cucinare sul momento, ma un risotto si prepara in 20 minuti, se vogliamo abbondare,
¾ d'ora è più del doppio del tempo e non c'era nemmeno la sala piena.
Ottimizzerei i tempi e l'organizzazione della cucina.
Per il resto gentilezza simpatia e disponibilità del personale è molto apprezzabile.

We are obviously talking about a Spartan restaurant so you cannot expect starred service or dishes.
Having said this premise, let's move on to the location which is obviously very folkloristic in the middle of the wonderful old city "A nostr Tarnt vecchje"
Friendly staff but a little inattentive to service.
Food, the seafood risotto was excellent but I didn't like the prawn and lemon gnocchi at all... I would avoid adding mascarpone and/or cream, to thicken and make the sauce creamy it was enough to scallop the prawns with lemon and a pinch of flour, as regards the lemon you cannot put the whole peel on the plate, it is not edible, while grating the lemon peel on the plate would have given it freshness and aroma, a small adjustment is a dish that would be appreciated more.
The frying was good but not excellent, there was sand in the squid, I don't know how it could be possible but it was there.
A further note from the starter to the first course we waited over ¾ of an hour....
Too long
It's ok to cook on the spot, but a risotto can be prepared in 20 minutes, if we want to eat a lot,
¾ of an hour is more than double the time and it wasn't even a full room.
I would optimize the times and organization of the kitchen.
For the rest, the kindness, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is very appreciable.

Really very nice and welcoming place. I had dinner on October 31st with some friends and some had first courses, while others had pizzas. We were all fully satisfied with the quality and goodness of what we ate. The only advice I can give is to try to match the timing of the dishes so that everyone eats together. Whoever ordered the pizza had almost finished eating when the others got their first courses. However we were so satisfied that we will definitely be back.
