Castello Monticello In Isola del giglio

Since I go on holiday to Giglio many times and since I bring Giglio to Giglio the Gigliesi are not very friendly with tourists, I have to change my mind from Monticello Castello where the Castello Monticello hotel is located. From the owner Tommaso to all the staff I have to say that I spent some wonderful days. The hotel is located in a strategic point, has a breathtaking view, parking, the availability if you are without a car, they have a free shuttle service. What can I say? The Castello Monticello hotel has all the requirements for an unforgettable holiday.

Very nice hotel and restaurant. Beautiful surroundings, functional and cozy common areas and my room was very functional. I have seen mentions that the room is small, but for my the room itself wasn't small at all: While not spacious it had enough space and also very useful furniture to lay out/stow things - I did tend to require quite some space to unpack my bicycle bags :) The bathroom was indeed very tight (wonder they could fit the bidet in there :) ), but who cares in a single room as long as everything works and is accessible (it is). Value for price was extremely good for me. Looks like they are adjusting price a lot based on demand (weekday and season), so that may vary but that only seems fair. The included breakfast is amazing, with proper cafe. And the staff is all around helpful and friendly. The restaurant for dinner is also very good, similar prices as other restaurants on the island - quality was well worth the price.

We stayed four nights at this property. From the moment we arrived, we knew we'd be happy. Excellent location. The shuttle from the port to the hotel and from the hotel to the beaches was very efficient. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional, from the front desk to the dining room staff, not to mention the room cleaning staff. I highly recommend the hotel restaurant. We ate everything from appetizers to main courses, all very well prepared with top-quality ingredients. The quality/price ratio was good. We'd only suggest some renovations to the building, which would add value (which is why we didn't give the room 5 stars). If we have the chance, we'll return.

We stayed in this castle for a week and had a truly wonderful time: Excellent cuisine, friendly and helpful staff, and a great location for reaching all the beaches. Special mention for the friendliness, helpfulness, professionalism, and sincerity of his advice to our shuttle bus driver, Raji, to whom we send a big hug. The island is a little gem to experience. We spent 8 days at this hotel and had a wonderful time. The hotel is located in a panoramic position with a beautiful sea view. The shuttle service provided by the very kind driver Ragi is a key factor, allowing us to reach the island's beautiful beaches and return to the hotel in an organized and punctual manner. Fantastic hotel. Starting with the staff, everyone is extremely helpful and friendly, especially Raji, a truly kind person. The location is perfect, you can reach the best beaches in no time. The free shuttle and the discounts at the beaches are fantastic. You can also order take-out lunch, which is simple but very good.

Really excellent hotel. From the superb location to the room's quality to the kind and generous service of the Reception staff Tommaso. Highly recommended.

The castle is enchanting positioned between the mountains and the sea we ate fresh fish good breakfast the owner available from the shuttle service Free and excellent definitely to return Cristina and Tiziana

Hotel Castello Monticello is an amazing hotel for a 3-star. The rooms are very clean, the bed is comfortable and breakfast good to start your day. The highlight of this hotel is the staff, they are friendly, extremely friendly and clearly love what they are doing! The shuttle service makes traveling on the island a breeze and packed lunch a great option if you’re exploring a remote area for the day. I would highly recommend the hotel for anyone wanting to stay on Giglio!

Hotel to recommend, halfway to everything. Excellent services, good breakfast, excellent restaurant. Shuttle super available. A tip to make it perfect would be a swimming pool... Anyway, very good anyway.
