Casello Giallo In Milano

Beautiful and picturesque, the stunning Casello Giallo. The tollhouse/gatehouse was inaugurated on January 17, 1870, with the Milan-Mortara railway, which began on the south side of the Farini yard, continued to Milano Sempione (now Pagano), Piazza Po, and Parco Solari, and then on to Milano Porta Genova. Until 1931, the Casello Giallo served a level crossing with Via Savona, and the railway continued through the current Parco Andrea Solari, along the route I've already described, until it was closed in 1931. The beautiful Casello Giallo is a "major" type compared to the equally stunning "minor"/guardian type, like the tollhouse on Via San Cristoforo. Twin toll booths/gatehouses to the Yellow Toll Booth were: in Solari park (until 1931), and in the Corsico, Gaggiano and Abbiategrasso stations (until around 2008), demolished due to the doubling of the track from Milan San Cristoforo to Albairate-Vermezzo, inaugurated on 7 December 2009.
