Excellent service, very fresh fish, extensive wine list

We came across this restaurant, passing by it caught our attention... and I must say that the choice to have lunch there was more than right. An excellent restaurant from all points of view. Food, staff, location all perfect. We will certainly return to Matera to try other specialties in this sublime place. Compliments!!

The environment is refined but welcoming, perfect for those looking for a gourmet break with an open heart and a mind ready to be surprised. The real enchantment, however, comes at the table. I started my journey with a simply extraordinary selection of raw seafood. The absolute freshness, the quality of the raw materials and the perfect preparation give a pure sensorial experience. Every taste is a small masterpiece. But among all the delicacies, the Cantabrian anchovies deserve an honorable mention: tasty, fleshy, elegant... an authentic poem in balance between strength and delicacy. Next, an iconic dish of the local tradition that finds new life here: spaghetti all'assassina. Cooked "over fire", as required by the authentic technique, they release a strong, almost primordial flavour, with that intense taste of burnt tomato that captivates from the first bite. The second? A baked sea bream which is the perfect expression of the art of simplicity. Perfectly cooked, tender and fragrant meat, accompanied by vegetables and Mediterranean aromas that enhance its purity. The service is impeccable, friendly without being intrusive, and always attentive to the customer's times and needs. You can breathe professionalism, passion and a deep love for the profession. Per un pranzo speciale, a base di freschissimo pesce in una location luminosa, servito da personale attento e cordiale, Casello 75 è sempre una garanzia. Ottimo tutto: il crudo ( in generale non mangio i ricci di mare ma qui quelli galiziani sono davvero ottimi), le ostriche Gillardeau, le cozze gratinate, il polpo arrostito morbissimo, la frittura di moscardini, i tubetti allo scorfano e infine il dentice con pomodorini olive e capperi. Il prezzo certamente non è basso ma ritengo possa essere considerato adeguato tenuto conto dell'alta qualità della materia e della capacità di lavorazione della stessa, e della quantità delle porzioni.

Seconda sera a Matera e i colleghi di zona ci portano insieme a dei clienti in questo posto che era originariamente un casello ferroviario di una stazione dei treni che poi non è mai stata fatta! Saletta riservata e location molto carina. Purtroppo non essendo un mangiatore di pesce, non riuscirò ad apprezzare le specialità ma mi sono difeso. I commensali partono con un misto di pesce crudo e caldo meraviglioso da vedere, per come era presentato ed immagino per il gusto; composto da almeno 7/8 portate non finiva più! A me hanno preparato un mix di terra che comprendeva mini burgher di Wagyu ottimo, involtini di carne e formaggio, verdure in tempura con salsa avocado, tortino ai funghi in salsa Parmigiano molto buono! Finiamo con un risotto al tartufo per me e tartufo e gambero rosso per gli altri, mondiale! Vino che è cambiato di volta in volta ed amari. La spesa non la so perché offerta dai colleghi ma siamo stati veramente bene! Per chi cerca qualità e ricercatezza.
