Cascina delle Monache In Treviglio

I was today, May 1st, in this corner of paradise. A stone's throw from Treviglio and convenient in the parking lot, inside a farmhouse, it seemed like we were who knows where. We were a company of 14 people and we had a great time. We ate outdoors with absolutely simple but well cooked food. Appetizer with fried gnocco and various cured meats, casoncelli and mixed grill with side dishes of french fries, mixed salad and tomatoes. Sweet, bitter, water and wine. Total 20 Eur per person (Mr. Pier Maria had asked us 18 Eur per person). Obviously this place is not for everyone, if you are looking for a refined place with elaborate dishes it is not for you. But if you are looking for a place to spend a pleasant and quiet evening with genuine, well-cooked food at an excellent quality/price ratio, this place is an absolute must-try.

Farmhouse just outside Treviglio, large and discreet and rather rustic, family-run. Service (definitely to be improved) a bit confusing and with some hitches, especially because there were 30 of us, the pizzas a bit bland... Bargain price for current times, considering that the first glass of small beer is included as is fried dumpling.. It can be improved
