Casa Masi was a real surprise. It's located in the Montaione countryside, easily reachable from Florence in about 45 minutes. It's a splendid location, with large, well-maintained green spaces, ample parking, and an interior that beautifully combines tradition and modernity. The cuisine was probably what impressed us most: one of the most compelling offerings we've tried in recent years. The mixed antipasto platter was excellent, with special mention for the crusted mushroom caps and the grilled pecorino cheese with truffle. We also tried the fried steak, a house specialty: very good, although I personally remain faithful to the grilled Florentine steak! The desserts were excellent, and the wine list was also very interesting, extensive and innovative. We chose an excellent 2019 Tignanello. A place I hadn't heard of, and I'm so happy to have discovered it. We'll definitely be back!
