Everything is very good and high-quality, but the bill is a bit higher, especially on weekends when they don't have set menus... so it's not really a place for everyone.

A charming restaurant in the heart of Empoli, where you can find quality Italian and international meats. Various breeds and ages are available. The meat and side dishes are excellent.

In true American fashion (though both living in Italy for some time), a friend and I were at the end of a day in Empoli looking for a dinner with no particular guidelines. And, because we decided to seize the day, we had already splurged in dessert first at one of the local gelateria. At 6 pm and having found the lights out at the Moroccan joint, and turned away at the Enoteca due to no aperitivo and what we were told was a full house of reservations for dinner, we continued our search and arrived to CDB shortly before 7 pm. We couldn't have gotten luckier with where we ended up!
While we had to wait until the dining room was ready, we enjoyed a beautiful bottle of vino rosso from Montalcino on the outdoor patio. Promptly at 7, we were welcomed in and given an overview of the many amazing choices that were being offered. Even though we had previously had our minds made up on burgers, we were tempted and sucked in by the "Degustazione di Tartare," a sampling of 4 hand-chopped tartare, each with their own local influence (eg..ricotta, funghi, pistachio). We knew that anything meat related in this place had to be good, and we were not wrong! Molto buono! Because of the aforementioned gelato... we didnt quite think we were ready for a kilo of bistecca so still opted to share a "Fresco" burger. Perfectly cooked and dressed, we devoured it. We even had a sample of the roasted potatoes and they were decidely some of the best potatoes we had in Tuscany! We have no choice but to return someday for the bistecca, but truth be told, even though we would go back in a heartbeat for the food alone, it really was the staff that left us walking out the door with a smile on our face and joy in our hearts. We felt like family by the time we left. Gianni shared with us stories of the generations of butchers than run in his family, while he and Francesco (the grill master e cuoco) shared their passion and a few secrets of cooking the bistecca in their open style kitchen. Niccolai, our server, took perfect care of us through the visit. All in all, we cannot wait to return! Grazie Mille alla nostro nuova famiglia!

This is my first time here, and I'm craving some meat. What can I say? A place with meticulous attention to detail and a unique culinary experience. The quality is truly evident; I tried the menu with a first course, steak, and side dish, and it was a delight! The tagliatelle with steak ragù are unique; beyond the freshness of the pasta, the flavor of the ragù, and all the perfectly balanced ingredients make it spectacular. The meat is juicy and cooked to perfection, as per Tuscan tradition. The beans are creamy, hot, and flavorful, delicious (I'm not a fan of beans, but these absolutely blew me away). The prices are in line with the quality of the dishes, and honestly, it was money well spent. The owner is kind and attentive to the product he offers. I'll definitely be back.

We had dinner at this restaurant on October 31st. There were four of us and we ordered: picanha carpaccio, classic tartare, pasta with steak ragù, two Florentine steaks (1.4kg each), and baked potatoes, plus dessert and wine. What can I say? This restaurant is a benchmark for Italian meat and dining. Each dish is meticulously prepared, and the price is fair for what you eat and the experience. If you want to spend a few cents, go to an osteria or buy the meat from the butcher and cook it yourself. WE COME HERE TO ENJOY.
