The restaurant isn't very large, and the owners deserve a lot of praise for prioritizing guest privacy over seating capacity.
Regarding the food, I expected much more, especially from the pomp and circumstance of the menu and the prices. Nothing exceptional, and, indeed, absolutely inadequate.
I'll digress here, because your guests may not be able to cook a simple risotto, but they've probably tried a good number of restaurants, starred or otherwise, in Lombardy; therefore, a criticism or observation shouldn't be undermined with a quip like that. Thankfully, I need glasses, but I can hear perfectly well.
The service isn't up to par; for what you pay, the wait staff should be pouring the wine into your glass, not me. To return to the point I made earlier, I do this at home, in a restaurant where you pay for service.
A negative experience, partly due to the waiter's unpleasant, taunting remarks, which were nevertheless audible, and partly due to the food we tasted, which certainly didn't live up to the price and advertising.
