Casa Dea Corte In Venezia

I had an unforgettable dining experience at this Italian restaurant during my 30th birthday trip in October! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel completely welcomed friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. I asked one of waiters what’s the best thing to order on the menu, he said “choose anything & I’ll promise you will love it!” Come to find it was the owner! And he did not lie! The food was absolutely incredible fresh, authentic, and full of rich flavors that reminded me why I love Italian food. Every dish was beautifully prepared, and the atmosphere was cozy but very intimate. My mother & I bought two bottles of wine to support him because the customer service and food was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. This restaurant is one of the main reason why I’ll be traveling back to Venice from the US! :)

A hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Good food and, above all, a warm welcome.

This was an amazing find / spot. The food was top tier. Great flavours, good ambiance and the service was excellent.

Absolutely fantastic! The restaurant is tucked away in a small alley, but it's a real gem. The service was incredibly friendly (though not the fastest), lovely with the children, attentive, and helpful. Even though our son couldn't have lasagna, they had a fantastic alternative. Of course, we could have ordered any other dish from the menu. We loved everything we ate. The courtyard atmosphere is also pleasant and peaceful, a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of Venice.

Warning ⚠️ We eat outdoors, so in winter, be sure to dress warmly! Otherwise, the food was really just okay; my girlfriend's dish was cold, and the prices are high for small portions...

Entering La Corte 1642 is like finding yourself in a more intimate Venice. Where time slows down, the lights dim, and the worn wood tells stories of those who have passed before you. The first thing that strikes you is that it doesn't even feel like Venice. The atmosphere recalls a bar in the Southeast Pacific: bamboo canes, plants hanging from above, warm lighting, artisanal details. A small tropical world nestled perfectly in Cannaregio. A spectacle unfolds in front of the cicchetti counter. Golden meatballs with a crispy coating. Dark, intense versions, with squid ink. Canapés placed on thick bread, topped with delicate creams, prosciutto falling lightly, small fresh herbs as a finishing touch. The display case illuminates everything with an almost cinematic charm, while the wine bottles provide a stunning backdrop. The space continues with the same harmony. The cane ceiling. The falling greenery. The mismatched chairs. The worn benches. It feels like a mix between a Venetian courtyard and a tropical bar: an unexpected combination, but one that works surprisingly well. The open kitchen exudes care and sincerity. Small but tidy spaces, utensils ready, plates stacked with precision. You can sense how much work goes into every preparation. We stopped for an aperitif. A few cicchetti (small appetizers) chosen on the fly. A glass in hand. And their homemade tiramisu: soft cream, light cocoa, ladyfingers that emerge like little islands. A simple dessert, but well-made. The kind that makes you close your eyes for a second. A special mention goes to Max, the owner. Welcoming, accommodating, genuine. It's the kind of hospitality that makes the difference, especially if you stop "just for an aperitif," but you're treated as if you were having dinner. La Corte 1642 is like this. A quiet, different, surprising corner. A place unlike anything you'd expect from Venice. A place to return to, even just to revel in that atmosphere suspended between the lagoon and Southeast Asia.
