The restaurant is located in the village adjacent to the Forte di Bard Castle. The restaurant has several small but welcoming rooms, so upon arrival, you'll need to wait outside for the staff to show you to your table. The staff was truly kind, helpful, and friendly. The food consisted of local dishes and was truly delicious. The portions were plentiful, but the prices were a bit high. To park, you'll need to park in the castle parking lot and go up either on foot or by elevator.

Just spent a weekend in Bard, and we had dinner on Saturday evening at Casa Ciuca. A pleasant discovery, a restaurant in a house with excellent food and a very friendly atmosphere. The dishes are traditional, and it feels a bit like being at home, with very welcoming service. I highly recommend it to anyone passing through Bard; reservations are required.

Casa Ciuca Restaurant is a small but very cozy place. We were lucky to get a table with almost no waiting, which isn't always the case. The food is very tasty and the service is excellent—the staff is very attentive. A great experience overall.

A restaurant with limited seating, but reservations are not possible at lunchtime. The food is generous and excellently prepared. The welcome is more than friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. It's a great stop before seeing an exhibition at the nearby fort.

Six of us had lunch at this restaurant in Bard, which we discovered by chance. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the local dishes were impeccably prepared. The waitress and owner were incredibly friendly and welcoming. At the end of the meal, we were offered grappa and a Genepy infusion, a typical local liqueur. We'll definitely be back when we return to the Aosta Valley. Highly recommended.

We went to this restaurant on a day trip to Bard, a small town in the Aosta Valley. The dishes, for a restaurant, are plentiful, and the cooking is authentic, like grandma's. There are only a few tables and a limited selection of dishes, but that's what I appreciate about the menu; it's better to have a few well-cooked items than a lot of random ones. The service was friendly; I highly recommend this place.

Baita Ermitage

01/03/2026: We vacationed in Courmayeur, and unfortunately we only stayed at Baita Ermitage on the last night of our stay, because I'm sure it would have been our regular stop. Baita Ermitage is the kind of place you look for on a typical day in the mountains, perhaps after a long, tiring ski trip: a traditional refuge full of stories, where you're welcomed and pampered by the staff and where you can refuel with traditional Aosta Valley cuisine. Every dish we ordered had the flavor of the Aosta Valley; the portions are generous, and the price is fair for the quantity and quality offered. The view is breathtaking at night, let alone during the day...
27/02/2026: We came here because a friend recommended it, and I'm really happy with it! The owner picked us up at the Courmayeur Hotel and took us there. For appetizers, we had the apple salad (excellent), the salmon trout (of the day and also very good), the tomini with chives (good), and the fondue rolls (basic, but good). For main courses, we had polenta with rabbit, polenta with mushrooms, and a paillarde, all very good. It's very easy to talk, there's not a lot of noise, and it's suitable for groups of 1 to 10 or more. The setting is beautiful, in the stone, typical of a mountain hut. However, the desserts leave much to be desired. The tiramasu, instead of having mascarpone cream and coffee, had yellow lemon cream and chocolate. The chestnuts with cream tasted like nothing, but the warm raspberries with ice cream were very good. Overall, the restaurant has many strong points, but one weakness: the desserts.

16/04/2026: Truly the best coffee I've ever had, the Maison coffee. The cream croissant was spectacular. They also have vegan pastries available. The waiter was incredibly friendly.
