When cigarette smoke (and ignorance) ruin a perfect evening Yesterday, Saturday 5 July, we went to dinner at CapraSecca Al Mare with six people, plus our baby girl who was just 2 and a half months old. Nothing to say about the quality of the food: truly excellent dishes, well presented and tasty. The staff was also kind and attentive, and the outdoor setting was initially very pleasant. Unfortunately, however, our experience was strongly affected by an unpleasant episode. Shortly after we sat down, the customers at the next table began to light up cigarettes in rapid succession. After the third cigarette in a few minutes, I very kindly pointed out that we had a newborn with us and that my wife was breastfeeding, asking if it was possible to avoid smoking. The man initially agreed, but after another five minutes he lit another cigarette, with the smoke constantly coming towards our table. When we pointed this out again, a young woman from their group got up and came to our table in a decidedly impolite tone, claiming the right to smoke “because we were outdoors,” adding that the owner had confirmed it to her. She concluded with an inappropriate phrase: “We have all been mothers!” — as if that could justify disrespecting a mother who is breastfeeding a newborn. We did not want to directly involve the restaurant staff because we were guests of friends and did not want to create an even more uncomfortable situation. But at that point, to avoid further discussions with obviously ignorant and rude people, we chose to get up and leave before dessert. We sincerely believe that in a restaurant of this level, the management of outdoor spaces should be more careful. When the tables are very close to each other, it is not acceptable to allow people to smoke freely, especially in the presence of small children or customers who are dining. In many Italian cities, there are already regulations in force that prohibit smoking in similar situations. It would be desirable if CapraSecca Al Mare also considered introducing a separate smoking area, or at least intervened in defense of common sense and mutual respect. It's a real shame, because the cuisine is worth it and the restaurant has potential. But education should never be left to chance. The quality of a dinner also depends on the serenity with which you can experience it.

It is always a pleasure to eat there. With friends or relatives always a great impression. The waiters are very professional and always with a smile, and ready to satisfy any request, where possible. We have been customers all our lives and never had a problem.

I give 5 stars because the food is great but the service is too slow… 5 stars for the amazing food but the service is PAINFULLY slow

Over the last 15 years, Civitavecchia has significantly improved, especially in its seafront restaurant offering, giving us real gems that have become a source of attraction for local and non-local Movida on these splendid spring evenings. In this context, the CAPRASECCA Restaurant stands out! In particular if you want (when available) a SPAGHETTO WITH SEA URCHIN which will surely make you come back.... well... try it and we will probably be table neighbors.... PS: EXCELLENT AND FRIENDLY SERVICE

Ristorante sul mare di alta qualità..servizio eccellente , cordiale serve un po di pazienza (ma non più di tanto ) perché il locale è sempre pieno ..ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo..speso 135 euro in 4 con due portate a testa 1/4 di vino e due bottiglie di acqua .tutto eccellente.. unico problema che ci può essere in alta stagione ..è trovare il posto per la macchina nei dintorni

We ate the tuna tartare off the menu and it is the best tartare we have ever eaten in our entire experience. Try the gnocchi with scampi cream, one of their special flagship dishes. Wonderful staff, I hope you all understand Leonardo, a person who really knows how to do his job and loves it deeply. We will definitely return, in fact it will become our trusted fish restaurant here in Civitavecchia.
