Home effect: genuine, good quality dishes. You are greeted with a caccitorino and whipped butter, good breadsticks and bread. The first courses are not exceptional, instead perfect anchovies, artichokes too, ossobuco needless to say, like the cheeses. Old-fashioned eggnog, nice and thick. Guided wine selection. Very friendly and extremely professional staff

Excellent typical Piedmontese cuisine.... Small but welcoming place.... Friendly and helpful staff..... Blue risotto with top pears and divine ossobuco stew..... the choice of wines and the quality ratio are also excellent price.... We will definitely be back

The "piola" of the past in the San Paolo area. Exceptional cuisine... one of the best risottos I've ever eaten. Family and rustic (but still refined) environment for a great lunch. I'll be back.

Nel cuore di Borgo San Paolo, il Cantinone è una verace bottiglieria di quartiere trasformatasi nel corso del tempo in un locale dove si mangia senza aver perso l'atmosfera . Il bancone in legno, le bottiglie sugli scaffali, l'affabilità dell'accoglienza invitano i clienti a sedersi e a ordinare i piatti scritti sudi una lavagna. Cucina piemontese, con alcune divagazioni nella vicina Liguria. Buona scelta di vini e prezzi onesti.

Perfect environment for a restaurant like this: wooden tables, improvised chairs and menu written on the blackboard.
The owner and waiters are very kind, approachable, and always ready to give suggestions both to those who are not locals and to those who know the dishes by heart but want a few more details.
The value for money is excellent, the dishes are plentiful and all well executed. Although it is a place based on Piedmontese tradition, there is no shortage of more modern dishes such as artichoke carbonara. For those who have already tried ravioli del plin with meat sauce, I highly recommend those with cabbage with an unexpectedly strong flavour.
The house wines and coffee are also good.
The desserts are also absolutely worth trying, another excellent use of local ingredients.
Truly not to be missed.
