A nice, very local spot away from the tourist crowds! It's a great place to try the famous Venetian cicchetti and a glass of ombra.

I Do Mori is a characteristic Venetian restaurant, located near the Rialto Bridge, and it also appears to be one of the oldest and most famous in the city. The owners speak Venetian, so I assume they're Venetian. It's certainly not a place for mass tourism: the clientele is mostly locals and well-informed visitors to Venice.
I went there because I was accompanied by someone who had known it since university. It's a very characteristic place, with a counter full of cicchetti (a type of snack) and small Venetian delicacies displayed in a glass case. You can eat either at the counter or at the small tables in front; space is obviously limited, as the restaurant is quite long.
I don't drink, but everyone was sampling the region's main wines and more. The food is tasty and not cheap, and not always available because, once it's gone, it's not replenished endlessly. The service staff is helpful and courteous, always ready to offer suggestions to those who ask.
I didn't hear a single word that wasn't in the Venetian dialect or, at most, in Italian with a few accents: so definitely not a place for the masses.
Come on! Get in line for cicchetti, meatballs, creamed cod, sardines in saor, etc., and for an excellent wine tasting.

The place you expect to find in Venice, one of those characteristic ones. The cicchetti, one better than the other, are accompanied by an excellent wine. The truly courteous service is the kind you still hope to find in restaurants, but which is missing in many places. Friendly people who put you at ease and make you feel at home even if you're coming from far away. Congratulations to everyone, we'll be back and we'll spread the word about you. Thank you!

A very quaint place, with a rustic decor, typical of a bacaro. Delicious and appetizing cicheti. There's little space for eating, so you mostly have to stand, except for a few stools. Good wine.
