Cantina do Morì is a hidden gem in the heart of Venice, ideal for those looking to enjoy the authentic cicchetti experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This charming restaurant stands out for its excellent selection of Venetian tapas, ranging from classic options to more innovative proposals, always with fresh and quality ingredients. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it the perfect place for a light meal or a stop to enjoy a glass of local wine.
The cicchetti, small bites of delicious Venetian food, are the star of the place. The variety is impressive, from fresh seafood to local sausages and cheeses, accompanied by flavors that honor Venetian tradition. However, it is worth mentioning that during our visit, some of the cicchetti arrived at the table a little cold, which slightly affected the experience, especially the ones that should have been served at a higher temperature.
Despite this small inconvenience, the taste and overall quality of the dishes remain exceptional, and the atmosphere of the establishment, together with the friendly treatment of the staff, makes up for any minor details. Without a doubt, Cantina do Morì remains an excellent option to try traditional cicchetti in Venice, and a must-stop for lovers of local gastronomy.

Did you know? It is the oldest bacaro in Venice, already frequented by Casanova.
Today it has maintained its Venetian authenticity and is frequented by Venetians. Traditional cicchetti: meatballs, cod, eggs, folpetti, sandwiches..., and good wine, both house-made and bottled.
In the Rialto district, on the opposite side of San Marco, it is located off the usual tourist routes, you really have to go. It is a small place, a little dark, but which fully reflects the Venetian tavern.
We loved it.

Soft lights almost in dim light, ancient walls, wood, cauldrons, frequented by many Venetians always available for an exchange of words or a word.
Wide choice of wines from the Veneto and surrounding areas... possible to taste standing or sitting on stools using the wall shelves as a support base.
Courteous, professional "family" staff.
Present the true Venetian "cicheti", now unobtainable, octopus or "folpeti",
the egg with anchovy, the omelette,
the artichoke, the artichoke base, different types of meatballs, white poenta and cod, the stamps (Venetian sandwiches that accompany the "shadow")
there is also an offer of "spuncioti" or croutons made with "REAL" undefrosted bread and similar products and produced by a Venetian bakery, based on interesting proposals.

Decididos a ir a esta Cantina de nuevo en esta visita, ya que nos gustó mucho la última vez que logramos encontrarlo. Aunque la sala de estar es muy limitada, mi esposa y yo pudimos sentarnos en dos taburetes altos por una cornisa. Había muchos sándwiches de tramazzini para elegir. Soy vegetariana y la señora me explicó pacientemente cuál. Elegí un número porque sabía que de lo contrario necesitaría regresar al mostrador para más. Mi esposa eligió una mayonesa de langostinos francobolli, el típico tramezzini de una sola porción de un cuarto o un sándwich. Lavamos la comida con un vaso de vino tinto muy bueno. El precio era muy modesto para lo que teníamos. El servicio fue encantador y el ambiente tan cómodo que optamos por otras dos copas del sabroso vino que eran 5 € cada una. La última vez que estuvimos allí leímos que Cantina Do Mori es el bacaro más antiguo de Venecia y que según la leyenda fue el lugar elegido por Casanova para sus "primeras citas". Asumimos que el guía que nos presentó una vez a Do Mori lo hizo porque se menciona como un lugar visitado por Brunetti en un libro de Donna Leon, pero leer sobre la historia de la Cantina a nuestro regreso fue muy interesante también y sin duda volveremos si estamos en esa zona de Venecia de nuevo - ahora sabemos cómo encontrarlo!

Die Cantina ist wohl eine der ältesten der Stadt. Die lange Theke zieht sich durch den gesamten schmalen Raum und von der Decke hängen unzählige alte Kupferkessel, das Markenzeichen der Cantina do Mori. Hier kehrt man gerne nach einem Bummel über den Rialtomarkt oder nach einem Spaziergang durch das quirlige Viertel ein. Die zentrale Lage, die leckeren Cicchetti und das gute Weinangebot machen die Bar so beliebt, dass es manchmal schwierig ist, auch nur einen Stehplatz zu ergattern - so groß ist der Andrang. Das Publikum ist bunt gemischt und in der Cantina herrscht eine rege Kommunikation. Der Wein wird teilweise aus großen Glasballons abgefüllt, aber auch das sonstige Angebot ist reichhaltig und gut. Wer in der Nähe ist, sollte auf einen Ombra und ein paar Cicchetti vorbeischauen.
