The appetizers are a myriad of hot and cold dishes, which vary according to the season and form the foundation of the cuisine of the Agro Nocerino Sarnese: Nocerino Onion Frittata, stewed escarole, zucchini, eggplant, and even fennel parmigiana, flour fritters with tomato and basil, and meatballs ranging from classic meat and eggplant to cod.
During the autumn-winter period, you can continue with legume soups with or without chestnuts, or with mezze maniche pasta, cauliflower, bacon, and pecorino cheese, as well as exquisite cortecce pasta with fresh porcini mushrooms, chestnuts, and sausage.
The main courses also feature bold flavors. You can start with the classic goat chop (whose tomato sauce can also be used to season pasta), or the "arreganato" stockfish, or the pork capicollo with "Chiochiera."
In autumn, the beef fillet with porcini mushrooms is tender and juicy, melting in the mouth and a burst of autumn for the palate.
Baba, caprese, many types of cream and black cherry tarts, and the signature "Pizza di gallette": a dessert made with biscuits soaked in a secret-recipe syrup, filled with white cream and topped with chocolate drizzles.
The Cantina del Vescovo's highly refined wine list has been one of the restaurant's flagships since its opening.
At first, the focus was on the local specialties, creating an exclusively Campania wine list. Then, after a careful selection process, label after label, other regions from Southern Italy were added to the list, then from Central Italy, and finally from Northern Italy.

This was my first time at this family-run restaurant, and I have to say I'm very pleased with my choice: the place is welcoming, the staff is kind and helpful. All the dishes, both first and second courses, are made with high-quality ingredients. And what can I say about the desserts, all strictly homemade?
And as a well-known advert says: seeing is believing.
