I took advantage of the 30% discount with the fork to test one of the historic trattorias themed around Roman cuisine in the city. The place itself is not very big, it accommodates about ten tables plus others in the outdoor space. The peculiarity of the place is certainly given by the presence of two large chandeliers and in the paintings in which all the main dishes of Roman cuisine are represented. As an appetizer we took a farmer's appetizer: a pear cut in half horizontally into large pieces, in the middle some slices of pecorino romano, some peeled walnuts and the presence of honey. A perfect mix: the freshness of the pear combined with the saltiness of the pecorino with the addition of the sweetness of the honey and the crunchiness of the walnuts. As a first course I took a carbonara and the person who shared the table with me a cacio e pepè. Type of pasta: fresh tonnarelli. The carbonara was simply perfect, I have no other words to describe it. I also tried the cacio e pepè which was also very tasty. To drink we had a glass of wine, a beer and a bottle of water. I would have liked to try a second course but we were really full. I hope to return to try other dishes. I forgot: The owner and the waiting staff were very kind and helpful.

A wonderful experience, the staff is super friendly. The food is wonderful, it doesn't weigh you down, it's very tasty and it arrived immediately. Balanced prices and the place is really cozy and welcoming. I'll be back for sure! 😍

Locale in cui sono tornato dopo molto tempo insieme a tre colleghi. Tavolo prenotato tramite the fork per giovedì sera usufruendo dello sconto del 30%. Abbiamo ordinato come antipasti due porzioni di fiori di zucca, una mozzarella in carrozza, uno di polpette di zia Rossana ( polpette di pane fritto con mortadella e pecorino) ed uno di patate fritte. Tutto buono ed abbondante. A seguire due cacio e pepe, una gricia ed una gricia con tartufo. Porzioni abbondanti, particolare la gricia al tartufo, mentre quella tradizionale è risultata troppo abbondante il pecorino. Come secondo una saltibocca alla romana, una di trippa ed avendo avuto la fortuna di trovare una coda alla vaccinara. Anche queste portate sono risultate abbondanti ma una menzione particolare va alla coda alla vaccinara, molto buona. Il tutto accompagnato con dell'acqua ed un Sallier Syrah. La titolare molto disponibile, come il personale di sala. Prezzo finale buono al netto dello sconto.

Great location, good food. Unfortunately, the toilet flush not working, accompanied by an unpleasant surprise in the toilet, forces me to stop at three stars. It was probably an unfortunate coincidence, but having only visited the place once, I can only judge what I experienced.

Before talking about food, let's talk about the staff, very kind and super helpful, but above all very patient given the considerable delay caused by some of the group: for this alone they deserve 20 ⭐️! Let's talk about food, excellent quality of ingredients and well balanced, personally I had an excellent gricia and bruschetta with lard. How can we forget, all accompanied by an excellent house wine. Quiet and relaxing environment. Average prices. I highly recommend it to all lovers of Roman food and good wine! Until next time!

Trovato su de Fork mentre mi trovo a Palermo. Un ristorante che vuole riprodurre in modo autentico la cucina romana e ci riesce, sia per gli ingredienti, come il guanciale e il pecorino, sia per la tecnica: guanciale scrocchio a dovere. Solo abbasserei leggermente il sale nella carbonara che, essendo già salata di suo per il guanciale e il pecorino, può risultare un pò saporita. Ottimo il servizio anche se non ha quella nota tipicamente informale e gioiosa delle trattorie romane, ma non si può pretendere tutto:-) La posizione è davvero centrale a due passi dal Politeama. Diventerà il mio punto di riferimento di cucina romana a Palermo.
