Fantastic Roman trattoria in Tufello. Maybe it's located a bit further away from the more famous, historic trattorias that are now only a tourist magnet, but the quality of the food is top-notch. The amatriciana is fantastic, the service staff are friendly and professional, and dining under the pergola is very romantic. I don't get more famous places anymore; it's worth the extra step to eat well in a beautiful, yet unassuming, location. Highly recommended.

I've been hearing about it since I was little, so yesterday I wanted to try it.
The food was well above average, the service was impeccable, and the price was fair for the quality of the food.
It's a shame you can't have dinner after the theater, which is just a stone's throw away.

Family dinner at Calice d'Oro the other day and it was a nice re-discovery. In fact, I used to dine there in the 80s, when I was still a student, with my father and my siblings. The garden is very pleasant, and the service is simple but super kind. The menu is not extensive (which personally I appreciate and prefer) but has plenty excellent choices of the typical roman cuisine.
We went for the alici fritte (fried sardines) really good, filetti di spigola all'arancia (sea bass fillets marinated in orange juice) very nice, and then amatriciana, a classic, cacio e pepe, another classic, and tagliolini vongole cozze e bottarga, delicate and satisfying. Gelato to close the dinner.
The price is reasonable, about 25 euro each.

Classic neighborhood osteria, in this case in Tufello where you can eat typical Roman cuisine but not only. We had supplì for 2, a first course each of amatriciana and cacio e pepe, both very good and cooked to perfection, followed by meatballs in tomato sauce, these too good but not at the level of the first courses. To finish, a zabaglione cream, also good. Very kind and professional staff, honest price!

Dopo ormai numerose prove possiamo dirlo. Il Calice d'oro è una tranquilla certezza, una conferma di cortesia e qualità, senza pretese e senza eccessi. Tutto buono: vignarola, primi romani, lo zabajone, il cesanese della casa. I ragazzi che servono sono garbati. La romanità equilibrata, senza gli eccessi caciaroni, a patto di contentarsi, di non volere troppo8 in termini di menù o di esecuzione. Il prezzo rimane corretto, accettabilissimo.
