We arrived there on the advice of friends and our expectations were not denied.
We had a trio, that is, generous tastings of tortelli with meat sauce, gnocchi with porcini mushroom sauce and pappardelle in white with porcini mushrooms and truffles, all strictly made by the lady. Delicious, flavors of Tuscan cuisine which today is increasingly difficult to find. The osso bucco with sautéed porcini mushrooms. The tart with super cherry jam. And after such a meal, no heaviness. Very smiling and kind managers. Simple place, bar and tobacconist in front and a nice room in the back, a dive into childhood! It also has outdoor tables. Super recommended for those who find themselves passing through these parts and for those who love the traditional flavors of Tuscan cuisine. The kilometers traveled will be well compensated.

We went for lunch on a Saturday with a group of friends. The menu had been agreed upon. We arrived early because unfortunately it was raining and it was not possible to go for a walk. We sat down and while waiting for the first courses, they brought some fresh sausage which was not expected. We ate excellent tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and truffles, tasted tagliatelle with ragù, spinach and ricotta tortelli with butter and sage and with ragù. The pasta is made by the restaurateur's wife and is superb. Especially in tortelli you appreciate the fact that it is very thin. Afterwards they served suckling pig and roast chicken with potatoes and fried porcini mushrooms: all very good. We also tasted two types of cheese, one made from cow's milk and one from mixed cow and goat's milk.
To conclude, chocolate salami with an alcoholic note (rum) and a still warm cherry jam tart. The latter, very good, reminded me of the tart my grandmother used to make. The service was fast, the portions were very generous and the cost was more than honest.

Simple place but excellent food.....everything made fresh, the pappardelle were excellent, they melted in your mouth.....excellent meat and still warm tart....excellent price too....

In the heart of the Maremma, stands this historic restaurant which has been offering high quality homemade food for generations. The place is in 80s style, and it is as expected. The welcome reigns supreme and you feel as if you were at home. Managed by a husband and wife, who respectively look after the dining room and kitchen, they treated us like children, this aspect was adorable.
There is no menu because, starters aside, every day varies depending on what the lady has prepared, and they offer a fixed menu which costs 35 for the complete menu, from starter to dessert, then if you don't take the second or first course the price obviously drops. We took a homemade starter which is unique, they brought us fresh sausage made by them, two types of pecorino (1 sheep's cheese and 1 mixed goat-sheep), and cold cuts. And as you can see from the photos the portions are more than generous, where do you find a place where they bring you sausage and pecorino that affects you and that you can eat as much as you want?? there were only two of us and we could have finished everything if we wanted but it would have jeopardized the following dishes, however everything was delicious, a note of merit to the sausage and goat's pecorino.
Next I had the homemade tagliolini with porcini mushrooms and truffle (yes, because they also make fresh pasta, obviously including tortelli)....the consistency of the pasta and the balance between the two main ingredients are incredible! Obviously this course was also more than abundant.
We skipped the second course because we were about to explode from how much we had eaten and we moved on to dessert, and here too there was a surprise...a whole chocolate salami arrived that we could eat as much as we wanted, very good among other things. Shopping with 2 bottles of wine, water and 2 coffees 70 euros. I highly recommend it and will be back! Thank you ❤️
