31/03/2024: Family tradition of Easter lunch at Lovise Trattoria. Enjoyed another one this year. Food was good, but something was off. Grilled steak was on the fixed price €65 menu, but the fireplace in the kitchen was not burning anything. Strange? I’m also pretty sure my 8 and 11 year olds did not eat €65 worth of food. No price reduction for the smaller kids. I guess it might be a way to discourage parents from bringing their smaller children so more adults benefit? They called me three times to confirm my reservation. We sat upstairs as almost every year, but a room full of ~140 people heats up fast and no one was inclined to open any windows. It actually became uncomfortably warm. Italians are afraid of drafts so they would rather suffer in heat than risk colpa d’aria. This was the least special Easter lunch for us and we’ve had more than six here. Hope this is not the beginning of a downward trend.
