Food okay, service needs work Food: I ordered the venison polenta, not the worst I've ever had, but not the best either: the meat could have been cooked a little longer, and it would have been better served in a ceramic pan rather than a metal one, which, given the near-freezing temperatures, contributed to the dish cooling down very quickly. Despite all this, the polenta with the meat sauce was good. Service: This is the sore point of the review. We arrived at 12, with the obligation to eat early. Assuming it might be early, we made sure to ask if we could have lunch. When they said yes, we joined the queue and within a few minutes we had ordered and received our drinks. The food arrived 30-40 minutes late, despite the restaurant being relatively empty (far from peak-hour crowds). Furthermore, one of our guests didn't receive her lunch, forcing us to go and ask for directions, only to receive the sandwich an hour after ordering. Three stars, and no less, for the staff, who were always friendly and helpful. The service was unpredictable given the setting; excellent work! Ambience: classic "slopeside" restaurant. It's not "spartan" like the high-altitude huts, nor is it renowned like a restaurant in the valley. Folding chairs and benches are available outside.

The new management is truly fantastic. Excellent food and welcoming, helpful staff. Highly recommended!

---NEW MANAGEMENT--- Extremely friendly and helpful staff, always ready to accommodate all customer requests. I'm always greeted with a smile. The brioches are filled freshly and are delicious. The aperitif is excellent, with many delicacies to enjoy. A positive note compared to the previous management is the choice of background music, which is more "lounge" than the "dance" selection, which didn't match the surrounding atmosphere.

Caffe Vergnano in Sansicario Alto...we're always here! We start the day with their delicious freshly filled brioches, end it with one of their pizzas or an excellent burger, and then enjoy a fantastic aperitivo. The friendly and helpful staff always welcomes you with a smile. What can we say, Vergnano is home to us!

There were two of us, Wednesday evening with our dog, without a reservation. The staff were very welcoming, the place was wonderful, charming, and definitely worth stopping for at least a coffee. We had farinata with toma cheese and onion. It was a standard farinata, nothing special, but the toma cheese was tasty and delicious. Two first courses: polenta and sausage, good but not your typical mountain polenta; I'd say it was decent, well-presented. The cheese gnocchi were so-so, probably pre-packaged, and the cheese sauce could be improved. Overall, we'll be back because we really enjoyed it. The food was good, but nothing special to report. If you're passing through, it might be a good place to stop. A bottle of water + cover charge... total for two: €40

Service wasn't the most attentive the times I've been there. Coffee was obviously so-so for my taste. Strategic location at Le Baite.
