Caffè Valiani 1831 In Pistoia

Updated January 2026. I absolutely don't want to take anything away from other lovely pastry shops in the city, but in my opinion, Caffè Valiani is a cut above the rest, especially for the atmosphere in this magnificent location. I've had breakfast at this beautiful and historic Pistoia café several times. The cream-filled croissant is very good, and the prices are average—in fact, slightly lower than some of the more well-known cafés in my city. The rice pudding is fantastic.

A truly historic café and pastry shop in Pistoia! The staff was very friendly, and there was a huge selection in the window, but I settled for a coffee and Pistoia's famous confetti. The atmosphere was truly beautiful and welcoming, and I even noticed a fresco on the wall of the café! I can't describe the beauty and elegance of this place! Highly recommended!

Pistoia's Valiani (the "real" Valiani) is a piece of the city's history: without them, Pistoia would not exist. It's the city's elegant salon, the place where artists, intellectuals, and the like meet, always in the heart of the city. A guarantee of elegance, beauty, and the highest quality food and drink. For those not from Pistoia who want a complete experience in the city, a visit to the "real" Valiani is a must.

It is a welcoming pastry shop with a very refined, almost luxurious interior. I haven't tasted their desserts yet, but I have to give a positive evaluation of my Spritz, which was truly well made and the service was excellent.
