Historic, elegant café-restaurant and tea room with outdoor seating in Piazza della Signoria, the heart of the city. Pastries, chocolates, and even steak (83/kg, fair trade; in the city, even 130-140, "call them if you want..." exaggerations).
Caffe 'Fiorentino' is €1 at the counter, €1.80 for 'lieviti' (a price offset by their sometimes substantial size), with comfortable tables inside for easy seating. During Carnival, the 'cenci', traditional Florentine fried sweets, were soft and delicious, and these days, the frittelle, as well as a preview of the classic Easter colomba (offered in sample portions, soft and delicate).
The stuffed giraffe, part of the decor, is not a nuisance and arouses the curiosity of children. Dogs and kennels are welcome, as long as they don't bark.
An excellent stop, in the front row if you wish, also to enjoy the monumental spectacle that opens up imposingly before your eyes.

Fantastic place… best hot chocolate I’ve ever had… also went another day for their Negroni Tasting, after all the Negroni was invented there.
Kids loved loved loved the hot chocolate.
Staff was INCREDIBLY friendly. The first day we got the signature hot chocolate and our daughters - left pacifier and the waiter put it aside with our daughter’s name written on a bag- how can they remember these details when they have thousands of tourists?!?! I’m sold .

INSANELY good hot coco. More like melted chocolate with cream 🤤
We also got the ham and cheese sandwich for breakfast and the best thing I’ve had over a month of breakfast in Europe. Incredible. A good meal for splitting between two as well.

Caffè Rivoire is located in a very lively and well-known area, and its famous hot chocolate attracts a constant flow of visitors, making it difficult to leisurely appreciate the surroundings. However, the interior decoration is quite elegant and well-maintained, lacking the worn or cluttered feel often associated with century-old cafes. To better enjoy the atmosphere, it's recommended to visit during quieter times of day for a more relaxed experience.

Came for a quick bite to eat before a tour so it was simple food, I can’t review on cooked food. Service was great and we enjoyed it. Probably wouldn’t order the espresso with brandy again but it was fun to try.

Got simple breakfast foods. Server was awesome. Got in quick and out in time for our tour at the Uffizi. Super close to the start of that tour.

It's a very pleasant place. We went in expecting to sit for 30 minutes, but ended up sitting for 3 hours, around 2-3 pm, and the tiramisu was sold out. The other appetizers were also fantastic; we definitely recommend it.

We had an aperitif yesterday evening outdoors in Piazza Signoria and were pleased to note that a waiter named Lorenzo, in addition to his professionalism (which he shares with his other colleagues), stood out for his kindness and friendliness. He chatted with everyone at the tables and made the evening even more enjoyable.
A true champion.
Congratulations, Massimo and Donatella.
