Magical place. It seems to be catapulted into the early 1900s. It is impossible not to visit it if you are in Ascoli. The cafeteria, pastry shop and ice cream are good. Try the anisette chocolates they sell served with coffee. Professionalism and courtesy.

Visit date: 15 Dec 2024 for two.
PROS: Charming and historic place in a fantastic square. I love the anisette and the correct coffee is very good and also the Meletti cremino. Anisetta Meletti is one of my favorite liqueurs. Never missing at home!
CONS: The place needs remodeling. Then I can't accept after having paid €5 for a correct coffee (at the table) and seeing the bathroom with the broken toilet seat and the sheet with explanations (I think some historical stones under the sink) all dirty. Unfortunately we get lost on the details! An Italian problem! Details that can be resolved in a few hours, but unfortunately we don't think about them.

Beautiful historic location. Chocolate with cream. Double cream is paid separately ok but I asked for a lot of cream not heavy cream and a bit of warm chocolate underneath.

Historic place of the city where those nostalgic for the beautiful places of the past meet. The anisette with the pastries and the coffees together with the aperitifs are the strong point of the place. A doubt about the cream served in coffee: is it freshly whipped or gas-whipped?

Historic, rich and well-kept place in the center of Ascoli. Attentive service and calm environment. We stopped for a short post-lunch stop, so we could try the famous Caffè Meletti, laced with Anisetta, which we thought was very good - although the cost was a little high, although understandable given the place. We recommend a visit.

Bar cafeteria, a historic Italian venue in the historic center of Ascoli Piceno, in the beautiful and famous Piazza del Popolo. A perfect place to have a coffee laced with Anisetta Meletti, a Meletti with "fly" an aperitif, but I wouldn't choose it again for lunch... There was a menu on their website... But once on site there was no trace of that gourmet menu . Very kind staff. Also placed outside. We were surprised by the fact that lunch can no longer be served outside the restaurant due to the pigeons... In other nearby restaurants there were people having lunch outside peacefully 🤷♀️

Bellissima cena in terrazza al ristorante Meletti con vista sulla splendida piazza del popolo.
Cena con piatti di pesce e carne.
Eccellente qualità e servizio.
Presenza di diverse portate senza glutine dagli antipasti al dessert.
