Beautiful, historic cafe. Terrible music choices. The place is gorgeous and a must-see in Ascoli Piceno. Historic, beautiful, nice drinks and pastries, snacks with cocktails, feels like another era. UNTIL the music ruins it! Seriously? American pop in an Italian historic cafe? So wrong! At least play Italian music. Geez. Ruins the feel and ambiance.
We made a couple visits (bad music each time) and once service was excellent, the second time it was very slow, they had forgotten we were even seated outside and had to ask twice for our order. It could (and should!) be outstanding, but...some changes would make it much better experience for paying customers.

Stopped by for a simple coffee, but the coffee wasn't simple, but one of the best I've ever tasted. The historic venue is stunning inside! The staff is friendly, congratulations.

In the magnificent Piazza del Popolo, in the charming town of Ascoli Piceno, lies this enchanting place that captivates everyone who enters, sits on one of its splendid chairs, and indulges in its various delicacies. It's an elegant and evocative historic venue where you can enjoy many delicacies, including the famous caffè corretto (coffee with sugar) and Anisetta chocolate, while being captivated by the mirrors, bottles, and interior furnishings, as well as the view of the beautiful "living room" square. The elegance and deliciousness of the chocolate, truly unique in its density and flavor, will forever remain in my heart! I've been there three times in just two days! 💕

Beautiful cafe, but overcrowded. You can't ignore the customers, and if there are too many, put a filter at the entrance. It's impossible to rate the food.

A historic establishment in the splendid Piazza del Popolo in Ascoli Piceno. The website states: "Caffè Meletti was inaugurated on May 18, 1907, by Silvio Meletti, renowned for his Anisetta production. Two years earlier, he had acquired the 19th-century building that housed the Post Office, transforming it—together with engineer Enrico Cesari and painter Pio Nardini—into one of the finest examples of Art Nouveau in the Marche region." With this in mind, a visit is a must.
