Characteristic and very charming place. Friendly staff, large and varied menu. Coffee not great for the cost it was tepid and didn't taste great. Prices above average but adequate for the context less for the quality.

We ordered mint tea and two typical desserts from the famous Meletti pastry shop: cappella del prete and pierina (€4 each). Both excellent and light. Tea is served with butter biscuits. Very positive experience. Even if the place isn't exactly cheap, it's worth it.

Abbiamo visitato la cittadina di Ascoli, in occasione del Carnevale, e siamo rimasti estasiati. Bellissima tranquilla e soprattutto pulita. Che dire poi dello splendido e storico caffè Meletti? Situato nella meravigliosa piazza del Popolo di Ascoli Piceno. Uno dei caffè storici d' Italia.1907 la data di nascita. Appena entrati, l'atmosfera creata dall'arredamento ligneo pregiato e finemente intarsiato con le sedie Thonet fa da cornice ad un ambiente di inizio secolo. Qui siamo stati ospiti per la cena, nel ristorante al primo piano. Le sale sono ancora intrise dell’epoca liberty. Al ristorante i piatti sono presentati in maniera curata. Inutile dire che spiccano le olive ascolane. Il servizio è all’altezza della fama del locale, di ottima qualità, gentilissimo ed impeccabile.

Premesso che il Cafè Meletti è un locale meraviglioso e che lo staff è accogliente e gentile. Prendo un caffè e una anisetta classica, per la cifra totale di 10 euro. Ora capisco il nome e la bellezza, della location, la piazza spettacolare, ma perché su un Roof Garden al centro di Vienna un amaro al tavolo costa tre euro e in piazza ad Ascoli Piceno costa il doppio??? sarà che in Italia stiamo un pò perdendo il controllo della situazione ??? suvvia....

We stopped for a hot chocolate with cream. The place was very full, with dozens of people in line, but despite this, they found us a table and served us quickly. The very courteous and helpful waiter brought us a hot chocolate worthy of the name, with excellent cream. Cost of 13 euros, including 2 glasses of water. Very honest! Must try!

Café in the historic center in Piazza del Popolo, retro decor that recalls the meeting place of late 19th century artists, well-organised and kind staff, products where their home product is exalted, the Meletti anisetta, very good, large place with many seats sit down, fast service

21/11/2024: E' un locale che già conoscevamo dalla vecchia gestione. Siamo tornati e dobbiamo dire che ci siamo trovati benessimo. Al momento della prenotazione siamo stati avvertiti che prima delle 21,00, vale a dire il secondo turno, non avremmo avuto un tavolo per 6 persone. Siamo arrivati alle 21,10 e tutto era già pronto. In attesa delle pizze, abbiamo preso zucchine fritte (ottime). mozzarelline fritte, e qualche altro antipastino. Dopo una breve attesa sono arrivate le sei pizze, tutte di alta qualità. Ma c'è di più, poiché qualcuno non è riuscito a terminare la pizza, ci hanno portato un apposito conteniore a norma per farcela portare a casa. Ottima birra e anche buon vino rosso sfuso. Insomma prodotti di qualità a prezzi adeguati, gentilezza del personale e eccellente accoglienza del proprietario. Torneremo.

15/11/2024: Very nice place with an informal and family atmosphere. We dined only with the appetizers given the abundance and quality of the dishes. The kebabs and roast potatoes are excellent. Good cold cuts and cheese platters. Delicious cubes of melted cheese with anchovies. The dessert consisting of tastings of various types of cakes is interesting. €120 for 7 people is a price that admits of no replies regarding the quality/price ratio. Special mention for the quick and friendly service and for the manager: a truly frank and honest person.
11/10/2024: Wonderful experience.... You feel like you're in a tavern where the innkeeper tells you what there is to eat that day, with care and attention... Lots of choice of vegetarian dishes too. Thank you. We will return.
