Caffè Matteotti in Reggio Calabria is truly exceptional! The atmosphere is refined and welcoming, and the staff is always friendly and professional. The coffee is excellent, as are the pastries and breakfast and afternoon snack options. An ideal place to relax and enjoy a quality moment in the heart of the city. Highly recommended!

They had us sit in the outdoor structure across the road, in a cold corner... we opted for an aperitif (without food): a spritz definitely too diluted with seltzer or whatever they use, covered at €1 each which no one will take away from you.

For years, Matteotti has been the place you know you have to go for an aperitivo or a granita and brioche unlike any other in the city. A place where you're sure to meet someone you know and find kindness and professionalism in the staff. And if you have any food intolerances or allergies, they're happy to adapt their entire menu to accommodate you. What more can I say? Summer and winter, you can't miss sitting under the gazebo, ordering, and enjoying the view of the sea and the artwork of the metal columns created by Tresoldi.

During our stay visited this place twice. They have very nice terrace across the road. Tasty coffee and delicious fresh italian aperitivo. Worth visiting!

07/02/2026: Great restaurant! You can sit outside with a sea view or inside in the freshly renovated and climatized space. Food was absolutely delicious - seafood and pizza both. Good selection of food and drinks. Service is very friendly and helpful, menu is available online and easily translated to other languages. That’s convenient as a tourist since Hotel Lungomare is right next door and my family doesn’t speak a lot of Italian.
02/12/2025: Plentiful and tasty food. Friendly and helpful staff. Right on the waterfront with a beautiful view.
