Caffè La Selva In Assisi

I was walking in Assisi when I saw this beautiful establishment. At first I was a little hesitant because I thought it would be too expensive, but instead I had a great time. The quality of the ingredients is really high, and everything we ate was delicious: truffles, meat, carpaccio, and hummus. I'm just sorry that the beauty of the place might scare some people, because in reality the prices are fair and you can tell they serve locals more than tourists.

A beautiful place, a true gem just steps from the Basilica of San Francesco. The beautifully renovated selva is truly a wonderful place where you can eat authentic Umbrian cuisine, not the touristy ones you might expect. Well done everyone!

Fantastic place, really beautiful near the Basilica of San Francesco. I came there with a colleague of mine who knew it and from a garden that makes you feel truly in paradise, the food is splendid.

An excellent experience at this small restaurant just a short distance from the Basilica of St. Francis. The dishes we sampled for lunch are reminiscent of traditional Umbrian fare, enhanced by the chef's flair and presentation worthy of fine dining.

Delightful place, very kind and helpful owner, excellent food, excellent value. Very centrally located! Highly recommended!

We discovered this gem by chance: besides the delightful location (very close to the Basilica of San Francesco) and the beautiful surrounding panorama, the biggest surprise was the hospitality, kindness, cheerfulness, and spontaneity of the staff. Even though we showed up without a reservation and with a large dog in tow, they were extremely helpful, attentive to both our needs and theirs. And then? The food was truly amazing: generous portions, fast service, and excellent value. I personally chose an off-menu dish, lasagna with white ragù and leeks, and it was an explosion of flavors. We'll definitely be back next time we pass by! Sometimes it's not the food that makes the difference (in this case, it was excellent), but the genuineness of those who love their work!
