Caffe Gelateria Bassi In Faenza

The first time I went to Caffè Bassi was about 50 years ago. The old Bassi family were kind, competent people; the place was clean, as were the bathrooms. Then it passed into the hands of their son and wife. A slight decline in kindness, but nothing more. Today, my wife and I stopped for a break; it was chaotic, with a mix of clientele, and the service left much to be desired. But the worst part was the bathrooms, which were unspeakable, veritable latrines, not properly cleaned. What a shame! After 50 years, I'll have to give up a pleasant stop on winter afternoons. You'll always find a smile, there's a welcoming atmosphere, sweet pastries even late in the morning, and truly fair prices. Well done ♡

Really good ice cream and excellent coffee!

I came in just to try the gelato, and I have to say it was really good, creamy, and with a balanced flavor. The place seemed nice, but the surprise was the plastic cup... really, in 2025? Still disposable containers, when there are sustainable and compostable alternatives everywhere! It's a shame, because gelato like this deserves to be served with a little attention to the environment. I hope they change this soon.
