Caffe Fiorio In Torino

Founded in 1780, it is one of the oldest historic cafés in Turin. It quickly became a meeting place for aristocrats, intellectuals, and politicians during the Kingdom of Sardinia and the Risorgimento. It was known as the "Caffè dei Codini" or "Caffè dei Machiavelli" for its conservative clientele. During his stay in Turin, Nietzsche frequented cafés, particularly the Caffè Fiorio, where he is said to have spent afternoons writing, reading, conversing, and sampling the local cuisine.

A must-visit ice cream shop, it's impossible not to try one of their gelatos. Good service, friendly staff.

Excellent. Old-fashioned setting but with its charm. Very good ice cream. A little pricey, but it's a renowned institution.

A cafe with old-fashioned but charming decor! Finally, a good Bicerin with whipped cream that holds together with a good coffee flavor and a creamy chocolate base, very indulgent. On the other hand, my all-chocolate pastry wasn't to my taste, but my husband's brioche with vanilla ice cream was delicious. A very quiet end of August, the grannies' cafe!

On our visit to Turin, we stopped at the historic Caffè Fiorio and decided to try the merienda reale (royal merienda). A true experience: from the first sip and bite, everything envelops you in elegance and tradition. The place transports you to another era, with that classic charm that makes you want to stay longer. The service was friendly and attentive, without losing the discretion that fits perfectly with the atmosphere. We already knew the price wasn't cheap—€14 per person—but here each person's values come into play: in this case, you pay for the experience as much as for what you consume. If you enjoy authentic experiences, places with soul and history, and good coffee accompanied by tradition, this place is for you. If you prefer modern, fast-paced, or less ritualistic options... maybe it's not for you.

Being a historic establishment, you'd expect to enjoy perfect ice cream, but instead, it's nothing special, anonymous, and devoid of personality. The competition offers better. The people who work here only reinforce the disappointment; their enthusiasm is palpable. What a shame.

Très bonne glace au ganduja. Le cornet est moyen mais classique. Bon rapport qualité prix. J’ai pris une glace à emporter de taille moyenne (4€).

Il Caffè Florio si trova in Via Po ed è un locale storico. Risale infatti al XVIII secolo e, originariamente, era frequentato da aristocratici e alti ufficiali. Molto belle sono le sale con ancora le tappezzerie alle pareti. È un locale elegante.
