Caffè degli Specchi In Trieste

Caffé degli Specchi (specchi means mirrors:) is in the biggest/main square (piazza Unita) of Trieste. You can have a wonderful breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, evening drink or dinner there. The view, if you sit outside, is extraordinarily 💛 They have a large selection of sweets/desserts. Things could be expensive but worth it. But there is a twist - if you get a "coffee al banco", it costs 1 € that is the cheapest in the city. Not only that, you get a free hot chocolate that makes a heaven on Earth 💝 Must go place 😊

A city institution, worth a try. Excellent chocolate and top-notch service. Located right on Piazza Unita d'Italia... Spectacular.

We had an aperitif at the bar, served by Mr. Stefano. Prosecco, appetizers, and excellent, friendly service. Excellent value. We'll do it again tomorrow.

The atmosphere, food and service were excellent... we were served by Stefano, a delightful and very knowledgeable person.

A city cafe with a long tradition, in a top location and the prices are in line with the above. Excellent coffee, the coffee glasses shocked us negatively. The service is friendly and fast.

A fairy tale. A great way to pamper yourself in the morning.

One of the best bars in Trieste, but today was a rather unpleasant experience. I ordered a coffee and a Spritz. I paid €1 for the coffee and €3.50 for the Spritz. After being served, the waitress informed me that they had made a mistake and that the Spritz was €8.00 at the counter. So I asked for an explanation and they told me that they had incorrectly entered the price and that €3.50 was for the glass of wine, not the Spritz. So they invited me to go and pay the difference. I didn't go straight away but rather drank first, and during the five minutes I spent drinking, I was looked at as if I were a criminal. It seems absurd to me that I had to pay for their mistake, when the glass cost €3.50 and the Spritz €8.00...and water costs €4.50?! An experience that was always top-notch, but an unpleasant and embarrassing episode, especially since it was theirs who made the mistake.
