The swordfish carpaccio, paired with salad greens, fresh fennel, and pink grapefruit, was exquisite — the peppercorns added a delightful burst of flavor with each bite.
The main course, Millefoglie di Cecina, a refined tower of codfish layered with chickpeas, spinach, and a velvety purple cabbage purée, proved to be another remarkable surprise
The beef tenderloin, paired with foie gras, created a perfect harmony of flavors on the palate

Visited in March 2013 - I slipped in at the very tail end of Sunday lunch, a lucky seat on a coffee table in the corner while families lingered over their courses. The room buzzed with three generations sharing the ceremony of weekend dining - a joy to watch as much as to join. I went straight for their signature raviolini with pecorino and pear, a dish flagged in Frommers and Lonely Planet. It was almost perfect: pasta delicate, pear subtle, pecorino seasoning just shy of brilliance (9.5/10). Lamb chops with artichokes and rocket brought good quality meat and crisp coating, though it wanted more seasoning; the artichokes were spot-on (8/10). Dessert was Laura’s recommendation - raspberry cheesecake, creamy yet sharp, crumb with a hint of savoury, a lovely close with espresso (8.5/10). Coquinarius hits that balance of stylish but relaxed, where you can watch the rhythm of Florentine family life unfold around the food.

A true gem tucked away in an alleyway away from the tourist hustle and bustle, we discovered it thanks to a recommendation from an acquaintance. The setting is intimate, warm, and typically Florentine, perfect for enjoying a quiet dinner.
The wine list is generous and well-thought-out, showcasing fine local wines. The pasta is simply delicious, with a special mention for the pear ravioli, thin and flavorful. The tiramisu, light and delicious, was the perfect finishing touch.
The service was attentive, but a little slow.
We had a wonderful evening and have fond memories of this dinner. A place not to be missed in Florence!

This restaurant is best described as “interesting.” Things like the pear pasta or pistachio cream are regional, but not the best you will find. The food isn’t great, but it’s not terrible either.
They also forgot to bring out one of our dishes. It was annoying, but they were kind and brought it out almost immediately when asked.

Went so many months ago, in April, but today I was talking with a friend about my last trip to Florence and suddenly I remembered that I didn’t post this review and definitely I owed it, specially to Davide, who was the kindest and the most attentive waiter.
Coquinarius is such an amazing place, exquisite food and even better personal. We went for my dad’s birthday and we stayed there for three days more and we had our table booked for every single day. Favourite place in Florence, can’t recommend it more!

Incredible expérience! Great food, beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients, good variety on the menu. The waitor was nice and very helpful. Music and light were perfect. We really enjoyed our night! :) would definitely recommend !
