14/04/2026: Ombra del Leone is a lovely restaurant located right on the Grand Canal, so yes, it's on the pricier side, but absolutely worth every euro. The setting is what truly sets it apart: far from the tourist crowds, you can enjoy a peaceful meal with breathtaking canal views. We actually visited on a rainy night, so dining outside wasn't an option, but even without sitting al fresco, everything was absolutely perfect.
Inside, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service never missed a beat. Everything we ordered tasted amazing. The menu offers plenty of seafood dishes to choose from. We tried the spaghetti with sea urchins, the lemon swordfish bites with potatoe cream and the veal milanese, everything cooked to perfection. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, making sure we had everything we needed.
If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Venice away from the chaos, Ombra del Leone is a must visit rain or shine. Highly recommended!
29/03/2026: We went for a drink; since it's not very well-known, it wasn't crowded. The outdoor terrace overlooks the Grand Canal, and the restaurant/bar inside is nicely decorated and very quiet. We ordered spritzes and Bellinis, and the prices were quite reasonable, which is rare for a place like this (unlike Harry's Bar, for example).
