We stopped here on the way to Tuscany. Seems to be all locals here. Food was absolutely amazing. Best pasta I have had in Italy. Noodles had the perfect bite to it.

What an amazing place! Cacio e pepe was not on the menu that day, but they made it for me anyway! The Pope's salami which I couldn't find anywhere else was here waiting for me :)

we were there by chance on a return trip home at the end of the Christmas holidays. It is very convenient for a lunch break because it is very close to the Ponzano/Soratte toll booth. we ate very well, the place is really welcoming and efficient. Furthermore, a wonderful and sociable kitten kept us company on an armchair while they ate. The prices are really excellent and the quality of the food is good. I definitely recommend it.

Invited for lunch by a friend from Ponzano, we discovered this delightful, small and unexpected restaurant along the road. Nice furnishings, relaxing and welcoming veranda and excellent homemade and refined dishes at the same time. The mushroom, chestnut and potato soup and the aubergine pie are excellent. Advised.

This is a ridiculously fantastic restaurant. Top notch, with imaginative dishes that you might think on paper won't work, but then they do. If that kitchen were in a Rome, London or New York, they would be celebrities. I have lived in Italy off and on over the past 40 years, and I can confidently say this is one of the best restaurants in the center of the country, including Rome. And that's a big statement. The prices are also embarrassingly low. My wife calls it her happy place. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Very "camouflaged" place... Once inside the surprises begin.... It feels like being inside a beautiful 1930s French bistro.... The recipes, particularly tasty, should all be tried. The price is really convenient.... The staff is extremely friendly and competent.... Absolutely worth trying!!!!

14/05/2025: When I go to Leonessa, whether for a weekend or a week, I always find a way to have dinner at their place. Their tagliata is poetry to me... Delicious!

La Locanda del Poeta

01/05/2025: First time at the Locanda del Poeta. As emerges from all the reviews, even the negative ones, the environment, I confirm, is truly suggestive: large green lawn, with a pond, all very well kept. Excellent food, everything, both the first courses, not banal and very tasty, and the second courses (mention for the shin!); The desserts are also excellent. The surprise, however, is in the service: May 1st, packed place, many guys at work, but it's obvious that we were willing to wait. We waited a bit between the first and second courses, they noticed it and even offered us a bottle of wine apologizing for the wait. We will definitely be back again. Appropriate bill for good food.
21/04/2025: Lovely place just an hour away from Rome. Must try
