Cafe Merenda In Roma

A discreet and now quite well-known address, often frequented by foreigners, with a European influence both in the pastry shop... and in the prices.

The pastries are delicious, and the cream inside is too... but paying 5 euros for a cream croissant seems absurd to me! Especially since there are places in Rome that are just as good with much more reasonable prices. The staff made sure to remind me, as soon as I walked in at 2:20 PM, that they would be closing in 20 minutes (?). It's a shame because the place is very nice... but the atmosphere and value for money leave a lot to be desired.

Very nice place, near the Piramide B metro. The decor is classic modern pastry shops. They have a good selection of desserts. I tried the cream croissant, delicious! They also have a varied selection of high quality coffees. The prices are average for specialty pastry shops. I found the staff neutral, neither friendly nor unpleasant. I recommend it.

Clean and tidy place but very minimal and with little character. Good choice of leavened products and cakes for breakfast or for a pleasant snack. Pan Suisse with a good balance between cream and chocolate both in quantity and taste. The pastry was a little too crunchy, while I was eating it the surface was dispersed in the plate. Croissant with cream also pleasant, good pastry and consistency of the cream, the flavor of the latter however lacked aromas. To accompany 2 small orange juices unfortunately served very hot. Price in my opinion above the average of the most famous Roman bakeries at the moment. The perceived quality does not justify the price.

Excellent yeasts, nice place and fast and kind service!

Few options for vegetarians and vegans. Too much bread in many dishes and never as "whole" as proposed.

A place with soft colors immersed in a background of relaxing piano music. Young and helpful staff. Really excellent puff pastry with exquisite and proportionate fillings. The dishes of the kitchen such as pancakes or savory dishes are prepared starting from 9. Personally I found the pancakes to be improvable, the savory dishes good, excellent cooking of the eggs and the quality of the cured meat. Prices above average, but proportionate to the quality of the product.

An excellent choice for specialty coffee in Rome. The baked goods and dessert selection are very good. The place is small and cozy. The service is great. The staff is friendly.

High-end coffee and pastries. The prices are certainly higher (from coffee to desserts over 4 euros) but they are adequate for the superior quality of the raw materials and the general offer. They also make excellent savory breakfasts. The interior is very nice, on the outside the aesthetics could be improved but it's already acceptable. Worth a try for the offer and the mix of raw materials, all good

Avevo letto della qualità del Café Merenda e già da tempo volevo fargli visita per una "diversa" colazione. Stamattina siamo riusciti ad andarci. Ed effettivamente la fama è meritatissima; sfogliati fragranti, gustosi, scioglievoli, profumati. Abbiamo scelto un Cruffin con un ripieno di crema e caramello e un pain Suisse al cioccolato veramente da leccarsi i baffi. Sicuramente da ritornarci. Cordiale il personale; prezzi adeguati all'alta qualità dei prodotti.
