Ca' Vecia In Ferrara

The best trattoria in Ferrara. Here I ate the best pumpkin cappellacci in Ferrara (sweet and savory as they should be). They still make "timballo" (baked pasta filled with cappelletti) which you can't find anywhere now. Salamis sauce with mashed potatoes just as it should be. We are all waiting and "hoping" that it reopens unfortunately without the presence of Arnaldo, a true "Oste" like you can no longer find. The other restaurants with the excuse of "gourmet" offer you the usual traditional dishes with sometimes ridiculously small portions. The authenticity and simplicity of the true cuisine that we were still lucky enough to find here has been lost.

Unfortunately it is closed I don't know for how long... Condolences to the family....

If you come to visit Ferrara don't miss the Ca' Vecia restaurant!! Excellent.

I chose to stop in this restaurant as it is easily reachable from the Cona hospital. I found such friendliness and hospitality from the manager and the waitress, very passionate and competent! The raw materials are excellent, I particularly appreciated the handcrafted first courses and the side dish trolley! I felt at home, thank you very much!

Consigliato dal gestore del ns. agriturismo dove abbiamo soggiornato, eravamo interessati ad una cucina semplice. Mentre ritornavamo dal mare e nel rientro ci siamo passati, abbiamo prenotato prima di partire dalla spiaggia. Non abbiamo mangiato male , posso dire nella norma... cmq bene. L'unica cosa che mi ha stupito è stato che il menu è stato detto a voce dalla ragazza e abbiamo scelto, ma sopratutto non sapevamo quanto costavano i piatti. Quindi 1 vassoio di affettati per 2 con relativi gnocchi fritti, 2 primi ( tagliatelle al ragu e tortelloni) e 1 secondo ( 1 coscia di anatra) con un piattino di contorno (erbette) e 3 dolci , vino della casa e acqua . Dopo alla cassa è stato un pò alto il conto. Totale scontrino con 3x35 menu= 105€ . Ecco avrei voluto sapere il costo dei piatti, da valutare come consiglio non perchè siamo turisti, forse sono abituati ad avere la gente del luogo Cmq è stato anche un nostro errore a non richiederlo, ci siamo fidati.
