An excellent osteria where you can try their super meatballs with a glass of wine for a different aperitif. They also have tables inside where you can sit for dinner or a full lunch.

Honest but pretty basic - fine if that is what you are after.

They don't answer the phone on Saturdays, so I wasn't able to get dinner. The cicchetti are always top-notch.

I've lived in Venice since I was born, and at least once a year, if not more, I go to Alla Vedova. I've always had fond memories of this place: good, generous dishes like a Venetian restaurant/osteria should have, and a wonderful atmosphere, thanks to the very charming and traditional setting. However, recently I've been surprised by the change in the quality of both the food and the service. The meatballs, which have always been their signature dish for aperitivo, have shrunk to the size of grapes and, in my opinion, have also lost a lot of their quality; I remembered them as tastier. The polenta was more for drinking than eating; I've only had a few of those tasteless and runny ones. The pasta portions were quite small compared to normal, especially for a Venetian who was used to going there and eating satisfyingly. Finally, the fried fish was good, with little fish compared to the vegetables; usually, after a fried fish meal, I'm rarely hungry...the usual story. I'm sad to see yet another Venetian place lowering its standards because tourists are happy with it anyway... we've lost another landmark in this beautiful city, where even finding a good restaurant is now difficult.

Excellent local dishes, tasty and traditional. Honorable mentions for the spaghetti alla Bùsara and the tiramisu.

It's unfortunate to report that this beloved spot proved disappointing and overpriced. €12 for a basic vegetarian appetizer: beans, boiled potatoes, peas, and eggplant; another €12 for beans and mixed sautéed vegetables; €3 for half a liter of water; and €10 for half a liter of house wine. What a shame.

I recommend the super meatballs and the cuttlefish in ink, delicious! A cozy place with fast service!

Was happy they squeezed us in when they were obviously busy. Nice atmosphere. The food was decent and the service was quick and cordial. The meatballs were good but more bread than meat. My prawn pasta was good but my gf’s vegetarian lasagna was a bit flavorless…
