We were looking for an authentic restaurant where we could savor real Venetian cuisine, and we found it! Attentive and friendly service (I even asked if they had a candle for my partner's birthday, and the meitre went out to buy it!!!). As a child, my uncle used to fish for cuttlefish, and we'd eat them for lunch... Many years have passed, and although I longed to relive those flavors, I was apprehensive because if it hadn't been the freshest fish, it would have been a huge disappointment. But instead! Fantastic! Typical dishes cooked to perfection! The decor is elegant, authentic for a restaurant that's been open since 1890... wooden booths that look like hugs, gestures of welcome. Mirrors with dark wood frames, Venetian floors and vintage glass, placemats covering the chandeliers that recall the "hearth" of times gone by, and hanging copper pots. Wonderful! Highly recommended!

We showed up without a reservation, but the staff were super nice and managed to find us a table. A simple but truly welcoming place. I recommend their meatballs; you can also get them to go.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but considering the price, the food is pretty decent.

Polpette in umido con polenta 18€
(Braised meatballs with polenta)
This restaurant is famous for its meatballs. These are stewed in tomato sauce. Polenta is a traditional Italian cornmeal dish.
They also offer fried meatballs (2.5€) that can be ordered individually as appetizers (antipasti).

I was planning on eating something more traditional, but for various reasons, I ended up ordering the meatballs in tomato sauce with polenta. Aside from being a bit peppery, I found them to be decent and small in number; they could have at least four. I paid €26 for them and a glass of wine.
The place is historic and well-kept. The service is friendly.

The typical atmosphere you'd expect from a trattoria, the kind of ones from the past.
Not very touristy and not suitable for families with children.
They were very good at managing the place amidst all the hustle and bustle. We were there at 1:00 PM, and there were people eating on the street (they also do takeout).
4 meatballs, 1 fried dish, and 1 Venetian-style liver, 2 glasses and 1 liter of water, total €69.
It's quite popular; perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes, but I don't think we'll be back.
I recommend making a reservation.
Must try at least once in your life 🤔😒

An excellent restaurant where you can sample typical Venetian dishes.
The meatballs were particularly popular, truly remarkable—so much so that we requested a second helping—as was the Venetian-style cuttlefish, beautifully executed and flavorful.
Given the high attendance, reservations are highly recommended. Overall, a very positive experience and a highly recommended venue.
